Feels like a true successor to Descent.

This review is primarily focused on the multiplayer aspects of the game. I've stuck with this game through almost two years of development, but I can't in good faith recommend it in its current state. The combat just isn't fun, ships are too small and move nothing like the original descent, the majority of the weapons are useless, and the servers frequently won't load games.

In addition to the underlying combat and instability problems, most of the new game modes are not fleshed out well, TF2 style roles and gameplay elements are poorly shoehorned into a 6DOF game that doesn't lend itself well to team play. The game's survival mode is one potential promising area but still needs much more work to eliminate glitches, repetitiveness, and make for a more varied experience.
