It can be somewhat troublesome to get going, but I didn't have too much trouble, and I'm not super literate in the MOD world. There are tons of people playing it, but no one I really know. But so far people have been friendly enough, though I here stories of "bandits" killing you off for the fun of it, which would be frustrating cause you can be going a long time just to achieve a little bit and then that ends it all. But it definitely has the sense of a post apocalyptic world. Feels very much like The Road, and a little like you are in the Hunger Games, but without being able to do cool stuff like climb a tree. It definitely not for everyone, but for others it will be the greatest thing in computer games since steam.
