GameMaker: Studio Linux, an all new exporter for GameMaker: Studio Professional is Now Available on Steam!

GameMaker: Studio now supports publishing to Linux for the first time, with GameMaker: Studio Ubuntu Export.

As the world’s third most popular desktop operating system, Ubuntu reaches 20 million users around the globe, providing a new marketplace for the GameMaker development community to distribute and monetize games.

With GameMaker: Studio Ubuntu Export it couldn't be easier to publish games to the Ubuntu Software Center and take advantage of this opportunity to reach a new audience. Developers can simply export their newly created and pre-existing games as an Ubuntu Software Center-ready application, all from the one code base and all at the touch of a button.

This. This is why I refuse to buy anything past GM7. It had pretty much identical features, albeit less refined, and it was an entirely reasonable $25. $100 for an exporter is a terrible waste, especially when you can just convert games and files to work on other OSes with fanmade tools.
