Circle Empires is a fast paced real time (casual) strategy game.

In the beginning of the game you select from 18 different leaders, all have different starting options. Most are locked, only 3 are unlocked when you first start the game. To unlock the rest, you have to win games on various sized maps and on various difficulty levels.

After you have chosen your leaders, you have to choose which of the 3 game modes you want to play:

Monster Hunt: find and defeat your opponent (you need not conquer all of the circles)

Full Conquest: conquer all the circles

Imperial Conflict: you have to fight againts AI controlled empires to take over the world.

You then choose from the 6 difficulty settings (3 are locked initially) and make your map size selection (5 total, 2 to unlock).

A game that has so much to unlock keeps the players interested for a long time. This game offers the many unlockable leaders, the map sizes, and difficulty settings to do just that.

You can save whenever you wish. And the game uses multiple saves.

Everything happens in realtime, no pause options.

You start your game out in a circle, which you can defend by building walls. You can also built various troops like archers, guards and knights, etc. In order to progress you need to get to other circles, conquer them, and then build up more troops. A circle is conquered if you defeat all of the enemies within. Of course you experience attacks from your enemies a swell.

All people (workers + fighters) cost food or wood, so you have to built enough farms to support them. Workers collect wood, and you need storage rooms for this. Eventually you can use the wood to build the farms.

You can also build banks (1 per circle), that generate gold. Some units also cost money.

You can built various towers that all have different attack options (like for example poison and fire)

And there are some special abilities you can build/use as well.

All your troops can level up if they gain enough experience

You use your keyboard or mouse to move around the map, and you can zoom in and out with the mouse. It is possible to multiselect your troops by double clicking on a unit or select by clicking and dragging. You move your units by using the right mouse button.Your units in adjacent circles will also come to your aid if you are in battle.

On the left side of your screen you see how many circles you own, how many workers, food and wood you have. So these a the vital stats to keep in mind while trying to balance your strategies.

The graphics are really cute. And the music is a good fit for the game.

This game is very fun to play. It also has many unlocks to obtain. It is easy to learn and I think it is ideal to play in short bursts.

I would highly recommended it.
