To start off I'll say that this is probably the most unexpected success of the year 2012 and probably one of the ridiculous ones'. Now to the actual game.
I'll start with pros :
1. Graphics: Now here there isn't much to explain. Astonishing views from the tall sky scrapers of Dubai and the sandy color were on the high level. It makes you believe you are in Dubai on the war zone, and not in your half broken apartment with neighbours drilling walls. Also worth noting that the demands for such beauty aren't high.
2. Difficulty level: This one is very balanced. Like in some games of this types, you are playing a role of one man army, and fighting against huge huge huge amounts of enemies. Unlike in most of the games, and this is very important, you have very frequent checkpoints. So even if you die, you will not be thrown back to the beginning of 10-20 min fight as often it might happen, but rather 1-5.
3. Music: During the tense fights you might not even notice it, but the music that's playing is very good, at least to my taste. Some hardcore rock really does it during the fight. Bands like Deep Purple, Alice in Chains, Bjork and others are featured in the game.
4. Plot: And here comes the beast - the reason this game is worth all of the fuss. Mainly, the aim of the plot was to show the tough job of the soldier, and the decision making, but also criticise the fact of the war itself, and the way we make war in general. Some touchy issues were shown like use of chemical weapons such as white phosphorus, and the unpleasant consequences that it can bring. You can accidentally vaporize a whole camp of civilians... And then you will have to deal with it.
One of the other touchy issues, although only if dug deep enough, is the USA "invasion" in the middle east countries and their interference in the local conflicts often in order to protect their own interests which brings more victims. But this discussion will not occur here.
In conclusion the plot really makes this game a big deal with very unexpected twist in the end of the game. If you play the game the second time, you will feel as if you would watch say Fight Club for the second time. You know the big twist and you can see how the game slowly leads you into it.

Regarding cons, this game doesn't have too many of them. The big one is movement, and controls in general. Sometimes when you want to get behind cover the character disagrees with you, running is also a bit weird.
Another big con, and I really really really hate this one, is when one of your crew members goes down, you have to pick him up, and if not, you'll have to start over... This is the most annoying part of the game, especially on the higher difficulty levels, where you'd run towards him and die, or you just won't be quick enough. Other than that...
Enjoy the game.
