Aside from the obvious things like the gloriously stunning visuals, sublime voice acting and sheer scale of the world, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 shines for the little things. It's the attention to detail and the little happenings that make it a joyful experience.

I like the random events that happen in it for example. Like I'm wandering down a road and I see a bandit looting a crashed wagon with his mate. A soldier comes to fight them so I go to help thinking it'll be easier with help. Then the soldier dies and I'm fighting two people at once so I die too. But luckily I'd only just saved so I think I'll get another go at it but this time there is no wagon, just some guy who says he's a hero and wants a fight. So I try that and he kills me. Third load there's just three wolves eating a corpse so I just bypass it and run off into the woods instead.

Later when overburdened I throw a bunch of stuff on the floor. Two lowly wayfarers wandering by see it, mutter about not letting it go to waste and just take it for themselves.

I enjoy that some of my fave mechanics from the original game still work too. I bought a knife from a camp, then found a bandit camp, waited until night time and then stabbed them all in their sleep, plundered all their gear, stole their horses and sold them to the horse trader, except I kept one for myself. Good times. If you can't win in fights just wait until everyone is asleep then they can't fight back.

11/10.
