I first started playing computer games in the early to mid 90s. By 1995 I was rocking things like Descent and Sim City 2000. In 1996 and 1997 I was all about Quake and QuakeWorld. In 1998, I was split among Team Fortress (the original Quake version), Quake 2 (vanilla, Weapons Factory, CTF, etc), and Dark Reign. 1999 saw the introduction of Quake 3 and my first real experiences with Tribes and its mods. I was primarily a Shifter and Team Arial Combat (TAC) player.

The 2000s and beyond are more of a blur. I've played many games but each is less iconic in my memory than those that came before it. The games are more grand now and better executed, but there is something compelling about the first time a person experiences something. Nothing after it ever captures the imagination in quite the same way.

That being said, I did really play a lot of zombie mod for CSS back before zombie game modes were more or less expected as a standard feature of any new FPS.

I enjoy chocolate, pictures of long walks at the beach, programming, digital logic, and not being bothered.
