Hello! 您好! Salut! اسلام و علیکم! Hallå! مرحبا! ¡Hola! こんにちは! Hallo!
▄▄▄▄▄█ ABOUT ME █
I speak English and French and a bit of a few other languages.
I prefer single player gaming experiences and avoid MMO/Online co-op games.
I adore pugs. (obsessed actually)
I have degrees in Economics, Int'l Strategy, Marketing, Philosophy, and English.
I tend to lose myself in things and spaces that have a blue glow.
I listed all my favourite games in the 'View More Info' section at the top.
I can't seem to stop myself from deleting art that gets posted on my wall :) lol sorry

Intellectual pursuits include : ethics, metaphysics, economics, logic, financial markets, cosmology, paleolithic anthropology, business/marketing, geopolitics/polisci, linguistics, moral psychology, business of gaming, ancient history, aesthetics, epistemology, and digital privacy rights.

Music I listen to most : Jazz, Classical, and Electronic (IDM, Chiptunes, Progressive, House, etc).

My Myers-Briggs TI personality type is rather uncommon and explains why I tend to approach Steam a bit differently than most others: I'm an INTP [www.16personalities.com] :)

...Summer, 2013: Everyone had "nextgen" on their mind; but by then, the annualised and watered-down games that were "all the talk," just seemed mostly-mediocre, rushed, and uninspired when compared to titles even from just a few years earlier. Game mechanics had become tediously simple, challenge and depth were replaced with endless supplies of filler; sequels and DLC started to become a way to sell a complete game, and more and more titles were being released broken. The hype-addicted console gaming industry had lost its direction.

I had come to the conclusion that I needed to rethink how I was going to continue to pursue my interest.

Steam was a revelation and has fundamentally enhanced the quality of my hobby. The games are more broken than ever, but the new genres I've been exposed to since joining Steam have made my transition back to PC gaming a deeply rewarding one.

...Spring, 2017: The Steam Store has become an impossible wasteland of filler with little in the way of proper filtering tools to find unique items of quality, and changes made to the social features of Steam have been fundamentally anti-social in nature. More importantly, the downward slide back in 2013 of the Entertainment industry and its consumers has continued to the point where both have become insidiously lazy, cynical, and jaded. Sadly, Steam has become exactly the kind of place I was trying to avoid.

So, it appears as if I need to rethink how I am going to continue to pursue my interest in gaming once again. Steam definitely isn't it. But, no worries, I still check-in with Steam since I, like many others, am in possession of quite a large Steam backlog that I fully intend to play through. :)

I have a deep respect for games, and I believe a game not played, is a game wasted... which is why I am very selective on what I add to my library.
I don't buy game bundles, take advantage of freebies, snatch posted game keys, or enter into giveaways unless it's for a game I know I will actually play.
I don't pre-order games, or wishlist them until the PC reviews are released, and similarly, I tend to avoid Early Access games.
I don't buy newly-released games, thanks to the "it's fine, we'll patch it" mentality that is now pervasive. I wait, then I get them on-sale after they've been patched. I get a better game at a better price. Win-win. Wait a bit longer and you can get the GOTY Edition on-sale: win-win-win.
AAA games have become a big turn off for me. If I play one, I do so well behind-the-curve to avoid the frustration of launch bugs, biased reviews, over-hyped expectations, and silly-high prices.

All the gifts I give are carefully chosen, generally from a subset of wishlisted games; I never give carelessly.
I rarely accept trades or gifts for anything that isn't on my Wishlist, please don't take it the wrong way, I truly appreciate game-gifts, but I meticulously curate my library in order to keep the quality and depth of my backlog under control.

The only way I know your request isn't a random-add or from a bot is if you leave a comment; so please let me know that you've read my profile in a comment below. I've learned to ignore any requests that don't come with said comment. If I remove you, it's because I don't think we click and thus would likely not accept a second request.

You play games, rather than collect them.
You are an Indie/Retro gamer with a similar interest in gaming genres.
You participate on the Activity Feed (statuses, comments, reviews, etc)
You are an ethical, mature person who prefers a drama-free Steam experience.

Your level is greater than 10, you have at least 50 friends and 50 games, and no VAC bans
CS:GO, COD, DOTA, L4D2, TF2, or F2Ps are not your reasons for being on Steam.
You're not careless with your friends list, accepting every random invite you receive.
You understand that Steam is not a Facebook-alternative for airing your relationship problems, politics, or need for excessive expressions of saccharine sentimentality.

Gamers with obscene, bigoted, or sexist profiles or personalities are blocked on-sight. Same goes for the self-righteous SJW types.

Special note: knowingly being Steam friends with bigots, trolls, cheaters, or scammers or otherwise tolerating or condoning unethical behaviours through direct association with such types will get you unfriended. I have a low tolerance for such rubbish.

I rarely start conversations and am an introvert at my core, ergo, not a chit-chat person. Please understand that I possess no interest in small-talk, so I don't respond to the "hey how ya doing" -type of instant messaging. Frankly I never know how to respond to that, and if I wanted everyone to know how I am doing, I'd post a status telling everyone, which would be ridiculous to do.

If you do message me, please don't send me multiplayer invites or any hyperlinks; I won't click on them, no matter how much I trust you. I don't trust the person/bot who may have just usurped your account. The risk is too high nowadays.

Indeed, it sounds sweet. Hopefully it all turns out good. I think the new logo could use some work though.

It looks like I will need to upgrade to a DirectX 11 video card though. It will be on an older rig so I will have to look into what would be appropriate.

Perhaps literature is the only viable source of entertainment that's not been butchered by greedy corporations. Maybe i'll start a one-man protest and refuse to buy into this crap any longer .

Yep, when Transformers 32 gets inducted into the MPHoF we can safely say they borked it.
Anyway, this is beer garden weather. Time to get my tan on!

Have a good one.
