Hello! 您好! Salut! اسلام و علیکم! Hallå! مرحبا! ¡Hola! こんにちは! Hallo!
▄▄▄▄▄█ ABOUT ME █
:butterfly: I am an old-school gamer who grew up loving '80s/'90s technology.
:butterfly: I speak English and French and a bit of a few other languages.
:butterfly: I prefer single player offline gaming experiences and avoid online and co-op games.
:butterfly: I adore pugs. (obsessed actually)
:butterfly: I have degrees in Economics, Int'l Strategy, Marketing, Philosophy, and English.
:butterfly: I tend to lose myself in things and spaces that have a blue glow.
:butterfly: I listed all my favourite games in the 'View More Info' section at the top.
:butterfly: I can't seem to stop myself from deleting art that gets posted on my wall :) lol sorry
:butterfly: My Myers-Briggs TI personality type is INTP (this is me in a nutshell.) [www.16personalities.com]

:butterfly: Music I listen to most : Jazz, Classical, and Electronic (IDM, Chiptunes, Progressive, House, etc).

:butterfly: Intellectual pursuits include : generally speaking: science, history, and the arts. More specifically: ethics, metaphysics, logic, financial markets, cosmology, paleolithic anthropology, business/marketing, compassion, geopolitics/polisci, linguistics, moral psychology, gaming (business of), ancient history, human/animal rights, aesthetics, dharma, epistemology, general philosophy, and digital privacy rights.

...Summer, 2013: Everyone had "nextgen" on their mind; but by then, the annualised and watered-down games that were "all the talk," just seemed mostly-mediocre, rushed, and uninspired when compared to titles even from just a few years earlier. Game mechanics had become tediously simple, challenge and depth were replaced with endless supplies of filler; sequels and DLC started to become a way to sell a complete game, and more and more titles were being released broken. The hype-addicted console gaming industry had lost its direction.

Steam seemed like a breath of fresh air and has fundamentally enhanced the quality of my hobby. The games are more broken than ever, but the retro pc games I missed out on seem to work just fine and the cornucopia of unique games and genres I've been exposed to since joining Steam have made my transition back to PC gaming a rewarding one.

I have a deep respect for games, and I believe a game not played, is a game wasted... which is why I am very selective on what I add to my library.
:riotfist: I don't buy game bundles, take advantage of freebies, snatch posted game keys, or enter into giveaways unless it's for a game I know I will actually play.
:riotfist: I don't buy new releases until they get patched and put on sale.
:riotfist: I don't buy DLC; I don't support companies that nickle-and-dime their customers for story content, or who reward late-comers with a "complete edition" while leaving all their other customers with an essentially incomplete game. Speaking of which:
:riotfist: I don't bother with AAA games anymore. If I do, I wait for a deeply-discounted non-broken super-duper-GOTY edition.

I am an introvert at my core and so I rarely start conversations and I don't typically respond to the "hey how ya doing" -type of instant messaging until I feel more comfortable with the sender. That usually comes from seeing them on the activity feed and interacting with them there for a while. While I don't start conversations, I'm happy to be part of one.

(Please don't send me multiplayer invites or any hyperlinks; I won't click on them. One second of mindlessness can lead to months of dealing with Steam Support--no thank you.)

:JoyPixel: All the gifts I give are carefully chosen, generally from a subset of wishlisted games; I never give carelessly.
:JoyPixel: I rarely accept trades or gifts for anything that isn't on my Wishlist, please don't take it the wrong way, I truly appreciate game-gifts, but I curate my library in order to keep the quality and depth of my backlog under control. On the other hand, some people really know what I like, even when I don't.

The only way I know your request isn't a random-add or from a bot is if you leave a comment; so please let me know that you've read my profile in a comment below. If I unfriend someone, its generally because we are a poor-fit, rather than because of something "personal." I'm not that delicate.

:GDNormal: You are public with your gaming info (e.g., games owned, playtime, and achievements).
:GDNormal: You enjoy a broad range of game types and share a similar interest in gaming genres.
:GDNormal: You participate on the Activity Feed (statuses, comments, reviews, etc).
:GDNormal: You are an ethical, mature person who prefers a drama-free Steam experience.

:GDHard: You're not careless with your friends list, accepting every random invite you receive.
Unless it's from me. :)
:GDHard: You understand that Steam is not a Facebook-alternative for airing your relationship problems, politics, or need for expressions of saccharine sentimentality.

:GDHarder: Gamers with obscene, bigoted, or sexist profiles or personalities are blocked on-sight.
Same goes for the self-righteous-morality types or anyone pushing an agenda.

:spazdunno: Special note: knowingly being Steam friends with bigots, trolls, cheaters, or scammers or otherwise tolerating or condoning unethical behaviours through direct association with such types will get you unfriended. I have a low tolerance for such rubbish.
