Been a fan of Monster Hunter since the beginning, and World doesnt disappoint. It takes a lot of the core of the game and changes it to be more beginner friendly, which is a good way to introduce the game to a larger audience, but also still feels like a traditional Monster Hunter game with some QoL changes.
Definitely a good game for unwinding from a stressful day, or just passing some time with something simple and endearing. Looking forward to the upcoming singleplayer content update and the multiplayer!
Shovel Knight is an amazing game. Reminiscent of old NES/SNES games, it keeps the retro feel while still keeping to standards of some modern day games. When it comes to the actual meat of the game, I can't really say much negative about it: The gameplay is smooth and quite responsive, the story is beautiful and still simple to keep grasp of, and the visuals are top-notch for a game emulating older-style graphics. A negative that I can admit, however, is that it feels extremely short. In just a few hours, you can crank through all of the bosses and the side content of the main story and it leaves you wanting a little more. However, with the most recent update to it, it now has an added campaign where you play as one of the bosses through his own story, as well as adding a challenge mode for players feeling cocky or wanting a good test of their skill.
All in all, even with the game feeling a fair bit short, Shovel Knight is a great game and is definitely worth the money for it. More updates are planned for it, including more of the side campaigns and other possible goodies, so pick it up!
