GET THIS GAME!!!

Epic metal soundtrack! Insane Guns! Crazy swords! Badass bosses! MECHS!! What more do you need in a platformer?

Valfaris far exceeded my expectations! I started with just playing the demo as a gag because I wasn't really into pixel graphics or platformers, BUT even from playing it on keyboard and mouse (ewwww) I could tell the game was going to be a gem and that I had to play the full game upon release! Finished the game in one sitting, 7.5 hours and I'm not sure if I've ever had more fun playing a single player game!

The pixel-art style looks incredible in the screenshots but to see it in motion is unreal! The colors are so vibrant and the color scheme (that "neon" pink/purple and green) is gorgerous! All the guns and swords look awesome! All the bosses look awesome! All the animations look awesome!

The gameplay is so fun! The variety of weapons you get is superb from different pistols, to machine gun, rocket launcher, flamethrower, plasma beam, to rail gun and that's just the ranged weapons! Several different melee weapons are also at your disposal including energy sword, axe, jelly whip, leg of a giant spider, flame sword! So you can easily pick a weapon combination that suits your play style AND each weapon upgrades up to 3 times for more damage and additional effects!

The difficulty level is perfect! Hard enough to present a challenge but not unreasonably hard that it diminishes from the overall enjoyment of the game. The bosses are all very fun fights learning their attack patterns and which weapons work best again each, etc. and you get that rush of satisfaction when you finally beat each one! I can't wait until they release the update with "Full Metal Mode!"

The music! OMG such an incredible soundtrack! The composer Curt Victor Bryant did a phenomenal job! From the first four notes of the title menu theme "Torture March" to the final boss theme "Lost In Time" and credits you'll be blown away and probably also headbanging like Therion! Every track fits the game perfectly and is so fun to listen to even outside the game (i.e. on the car ride to work)!

Seriously though, everything about this game is a 1000000 out of 10 for me! I enjoyed this game so much that I decided to make it my very first speed run game and it makes for a hell of a fun run! Also first 100% Steam Achievements game for me!

You can tell a lot of time, energy, and love was put into this beast of an experience! Huge thank you to the developers! You guys rock!

Oh, did I mention that there are MECHS?!?!?! Flamethrowering, Stomping, Charging, Machine Gunning, Exterminating Badass MECHS!!!

I can say this since I got 100% achievements and I ain't afraid of being contrarian.

It's a very pretty game and fun at first, but ultimately a pretty unrewarding experience.

"But you played the game for 132.2hrs, how can you downvote it?" You ask? Well by the time I realized how much more absurd the later boss fights and parts of the game were, I had already invested too much time into the game to not finish it...and I'm stubborn. So... *shrug*

I'll give props where props are due though: incredible world design and soundtrack!

Having said that, here's a playlist of all the 124 boss fights I found in the game:

**Edit**
P.S. Played this game from NG+ to NG+7 for an additional 179hrs more and IT'S STILL A TRASH GAME!!!!!
