In topic Aliq voice acting
Aliq is supposed to be male, right? I seem to recall the use of male pronouns, but the voice acting has thrown me off completely. Was honestly confused, because the voice is so obviously that of a grown woman, not even trying to imitate (as they do in anime) the voice of a younger male.

Seeing as I generally don't even notice voice acting in games, I'm guessing this may be immersion-breaking or even an irritant to other players.

If you use Adrenaline (upgraded), it draws Endless Agony, which draws another Endless Agony, but then doesn't draw a 3rd card as expected, probably because it counted 2 cards having been drawn.

In topic Delete Map button
Every time I die, I generate a new map to play on. Since I die a lot, I now have a whole lot of maps generated that I'll never use again. Can you put a delete map button? Thanks :)
Thanks, this would represent a major boost to QoL.
Probably the most blatant example of this is characters leveling up. When I see the notification on for how many crew members can get leveled up, I instinctively click the icon, but it turns out it's just an icon. Doesn't link to the leveling page. Since the filter already exists for leveling, wouldn't it make sense to just be able to click that icon and be brought to the crew screen with the leveling filter applied?

Another one is the information screen on the right hand side. When I see that a new trait is discovered, or a rumor has been found, it would be nice to be able to click to see more detail about the particular crew member or rumor.

In topic Bug? Card mechanics
I've noticed that when removing a risk card or replacing a risk card with a positive one, if there is at least one remaining risk card on the table, it _guarantees_ that the risk card is "randomly selected".

Therefore, there is no incentive to use any of these abilities that manipulate the "deck" since using them actually guarantees a negative outcome.
The Starport Commander allows you to get a discount on the "local" starport upgrades. However, in my game, the starport commander contact spawned in a planet with no starport. Is this a bug, or an intentional part of the RNG?

Just curious, when is 2.0.47 being released? :D

Thanks for looking into this! I can't wait to see this fix. For me, it's a major quality of life improvement. Happy New Year!

I also tried Windowed mode. This seems to be the best solution, as it solves the rescaling of my desktop while not having text so small it's almost illegible. My only gripe with Windowed is the fact that the title bar of the window cuts off some of the interface. (Very hard to click the back button after selection of contacts in character creation, for example). If you could make a Borderless Windowed mode, I think this would be the ideal solution.

Edit: After playing in Windowed for some time, I've noticed that you have to click buttons lower than the position indicated on the screen. It's as if everything got shifted downwards by the height of the title bar.

@sendrien - and what is the exact resolution after the game has exited? You're finding the resolution changed and you right click on your desktop, pick screen resolution and seeing it changed there?

Any chance this is a laptop and you also have a built in Intel video card on the motherboard? Common setup for some laptops with Nvidia cards but can be cranky.

Since we can't reproduce this here, could you experiment with changing your Windows DPI to 100% scaling and see if the resolution changing stops?

You could also try running the game in windowed mode -- that is likely to stop it from happening.

Another thing you could try -- go into the Steam folder, right click on StarTradersFrontier.exe > properties > compatibility tab > check "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" -- I'm just curious if that does something?

Keep an eye on your 2 hours of playtime to be sure you can get a refund, ok?

Exact resolution after game has exited = 1920x1080

When my 4K monitor runs 1920x1080 resolution, images aren't very sharp. So I immediately notice it, and I change it back via right click > display settings.

When Windows DPI is at 100% scaling, the resolution changing stops.

Override display scaling by application as you suggested also solves the problem. However, both solutions result in a very small interface, makes it a strain to read the text.

I'm already way past my two hours. Your game is very fun, and your responsiveness is impressive, so I'm trusting you to help me fix this! :)

@sendrien - that is very odd. Can you give some more details about your setup, graphics card, exact resolution, extra monitors, windows DPI scaling, exact Windows 10 version? We'll try to help. Windows, what an amazing animal with so many faces.

Windows 10 Home, 3840x2160, 200% DPI scaling, Nvidia GTX 960M, no extra monitors.

Btw, congrats on making such an exciting game!

Thanks for the post and for asking about your resolution concerns. We are hear to help! We've basically resolved all the reported issues regarding resolution that we had at the game's EA launch, so I will now unpin that thread actually. It was a hot concern for some setups in the first days, but we've nailed it down now. That said, there is no option to increase the size of the user interface, i.e. make it bigger, at this time.

I bought the game, and I find that the issue is exactly as my friend described. When I exit the game, my desktop resolution has been changed from 4K to 1080p. The game is really fun, but having to manually change resolutions every time I exit the game really detracts from the whole experience. :(

Hello, the lead developer here. I am not aware of any "major bugs" with the game that have not been patched.

Did you friend post a bug report or ask for help from the developers? If so, I'm really surprised we didn't solve the issue. More than likely he just needs to turn off DPI scaling for the window and let the GPU do the work without the OS messing up the aspect ratio. But, I don't know the details about his machine.

I don't also know what OS, GPU or resolution you are using (no details provided in the post) but I am certain we can work it out within the refund period if you are interested.

Please pass along my sincere request to your friend to contact the developers on Steam about ANY issue with ANY game that he encounters. Unreported bugs are hard to fix.

It is almost impossible for us to respond to concerns that we never hear about.

Thanks for your response! I can't speak for my friend's exact specs, but for my own computer, I have a 4K monitor, Windows 10. As long as I can play the game in full screen mode without distorting my desktop resolution, then my concerns are alleviated.

I noticed you have pinned a topic about resolution scaling. Is it true that upscaling remains an issue?

Btw, congrats on making such an exciting game!

I first saw this game being played by a friend. It looks great, and exactly the kind of game I'd want to play. One of his big complaints was that the game distorts his desktop resolution, since he has a high resolution monitor. I also have a high resolution monitor (4K) and this sounds like a major bug to me. Can someone tell me if this issue is resolved yet? If not, that issue is a bit of a deal breaker for me. Thanks!

Kan Gao is really a sly, sly devil.

How many devs can get away with releasing a video prior to the game's launch which spoils the plot of the whole game with the community none the wiser?

Happiness = Reality - Expectations is literally the formula for the whole story of Finding Paradise. It describes Colin's problem, Neil and Faye's solution, and shapes Colin's final moments with such fitting precision.

This is exactly why anything released by Kan Gao, including supposedly innocuous Youtube videos and meaningless tweets, need to be examined with a fine tooth comb by the community. There is no such thing as an irrelevant detail in this man's work.

Just amazing.
Some games are priceless. Games made by Kan Gao define that category.
