My Top 3 Favorite Kazakh 2-Dimensional Animated Illustrations (otherwise known as chinese cartoons you filthy uncultured INOSTRANETS)

1. Aryan Race Raising Project

Definately recommended! With its rich and riveting plot, it was sure to keep me glued for hours as the story always keep me in suspense of Hitler gaining more power after every episode. I especially like the part when Hitler backstabbed Stalin in episode 6, chapter 22, "Operation Barbarossa". The "Landing on Normandy Beach" arc was very intense as well, coupled with the long-waited debut of the anti-villain Franklin D. Roosevelt, makes the arc the best among the already splendid arcs. I prefer the manga though, but as an animated series, it ranks high.


2. Attack on Cuba

This anime ranks high in my list of "rooting-for-underdog" anime subgenre. Seeing Fidel Castro remain undaunted in the face of American capitalist pressure was very inspirational. The thing I like the best about this anime series is the numerous fight-scenes between Castro and the assassins hot on his tails. Each fight was superbly animated, and the CGI implemented was not too intrusive, but adds further to the already intense atmosphere. These were put to the fullest effect in the episode "Bay of Pigs", the highlight fight in the series, in my opinion. This anime was the first where I am able to fully empathise with the protagonist. I was also able to feel together with Castro the immense disappointment and sorrow when Soviet Russia decided to discontinue the stationing of Nuclear Warheads on Cuba. With its theatrical sequel, "The Last Days of Fidel Castro", coming out soon, I continue to be an adoring fan of this franchise.


3. Lucky Red☆Star

Lucky Red☆Star is your generic "Slice-of-Life", "moe" anime, but in my opinion, it stands out from the rest of the "Slice-of-Life" animes as it tackles the sensitive topics of anti-monarchy and worker's rights. Lucky Red☆Star follows the daily lives of 3 Politburo members — Vladimir Lenin, the kind and caring senpai; Leon Trotsky, the arrogant but smart Commissar of the Politburo's armed forces: and Iosef Stalin, the quiet and shy but ambitious General Secretary.
Characterizations in SoL animes usually stick to cliched archtypes, with no character developments, however, this was not the case for Lucky Red☆Star. For example in episode 11, Stalin, who was built up to be a doormat for the past 10 episodes, pulled the dirty trick of exploiting his shyness to fool the Politburo into voting for him in the "Lenin's Favorite Kouhai" contest instead of Trotsky, who retorted in a surprisingly unexpected "Tsundere-ish" kind of manner by stating that he did not need that title anyway.
This anime series was surprisingly funny was well, especially the numerous arguments whereby Stalin and Trotsky fight for the attention of their Lenin Senpai.
Next spring, this series is getting a sequel, whereby Trotsky was hilariously expelled from the Politburo and Lenin has "graduated" the Politburo, focusing on Stalin as he tries to keep the party together. I really hope that the next season is as good as the first!
