You'll probably get more out of Deadfire than ATOM in a single playthrough, but considering how ATOM came out of nowhere and positively surprised me with its charm, challenge and humor, it's worth playing. Especially since it's a pretty inexpensive indie game that goes on sale regularly. I haven't played it since launch, but I see there's been rebalancing patches, so I believe it has better replayability now than before. I really should replay this one too.
You can get the Star Trek TNG background basically for free in the points shop, just play Pinball Arcade (free to play) for a couple of hours and it'll show up there. ;)
