Fun game. TTK is really high compared to what I'm used to, makes the spartans feel like they really are rock solid supersoldiers. The vehicles and the weapons, all of them, are very well designed. Something like the scorpion tank (RIP Sheila) may feel overpowered, but thats the point: some weapons and vehicles are meant to turn the tide of a battle, and they are all randomized and so it feels fair.

Just a perfect program that serves its purpose BEYOND well. It's crazy how versatile it is; you could personalise stuff to no end. And it's dirt cheap.

10 / 10.

An amazing experience; one of the best conclusions I've ever seen. Everything that 1 and 2 (mostly 2) had set up is beautifully concluded - loved every second of the story - with the same trademark Halo music and gameplay. Scenes where Cortana was "hurt" and "in pain" felt a little cheesy, but hey, that's no biggie. Overall 9/10.

What are you waiting for spartan: Go on, finish the fight.

Amazing game, the way the story unfolded was very engaging, and I loved both the arcs. The rest of it (the music, the gameplay) is basically just Halo, so you know it's good. 9/10

I can see how this game could've enraptured its players way back in the day, and still held up rather well in 2020 when I first beat it, but SOME mechanics of the game do feel... odd, compared to contemporary shooters. That may be a good thing, or a bad thing depending on the player and their expectations. Personally, I liked it.

However, it does have its fair share of "rough-edges", like the sheer number of copy-pasted hallways; playing through them felt like an absolute chore more often than not (*cough* The Library *cough*). Every time I realised I'd have to make my way through a repeating set of rooms/hallways, I'm pretty sure I let out an audible groan.

Still tho, I think it was worth it, especially since I bought MCC as a whole, so I can't really complain about the price :P
Overall, good game, easy 7/10 for me.

P.S.-As for the visual styles, I liked both of 'em :)

One of the best character developments in a video game... ever. An absolute must if you enjoyed the main game. Play it only after you complete "The Knife of Dunwall" though, that's the only way it'll make sense. Cheers

Amazing game. Never really had any of the technical issues mentioned in other reviews (played on "original" settings, PC is mid-range-ish). The final moments hit you hard. Don't want to spoil the experience, so I won't go into the specifics, but the final moments give you a sense of "This is it." like none other. Nothing was in vain.

Remember Reach.

Well, as for the game, great work Respawn, I approve. Would love to see a sequel.

I mean the game is amazing, but I'm not. I SUCK at shooters. So a shooter that's fast as this ♥♥♥♥? Well, seeing me play might actually depress you, so I can't say I enjoyed it (the campaign was great tho, and I play frontier defense every now and then).

I've seen many people on the internet freak out over trailers of games they love. I do have some games like that, and although the list is very very short, an ME game is absolutely up there.

The original game was something I grew up on. Fed up of shooters and all that generic stuff, ME was a game I instantly fell in love with. Everything. Just. Worked. That in my opinion was what made the '08 entry great. The combat was slightly clunky, sure, but other than that, the game just worked, and worked flawlessly at that.

And 8 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ years later, comes around Catalyst. And (here we go) I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE HATE!

Don't get me wrong, the game definitely didn't realize its potential, abso-flipping-lutely. It could've been a lot better. Agree a 100%.

BUT, what we have now is still very good! Let me tell you, WHY:

--The movement mechanics are as polished as can be. Period. Not to say the original was inferior, its just that Catalyst's movement is, to put it simply, feel-good. vaulting over stuff is an absolute joy, the sliding is a TREMENDOUS improvement over its predecessor. The MAGrope is an amazing little tool, which I believe needed to have been used more often.

--The combat. *HOLD YOUR HORSES* I know this is an extremely unpopular opinion, but hear me out.

I found the game's combat not as bad as many claim, to be honest. It was certainly better than the original's clunky mess.

Shifting around your enemies to dodge their attacks, the HUGE repertoire of attacks that faith can pull off, and the skills you can unlock (I know the skill tree is a mess, but not when it comes to some of the combat upgrades).

The combat had depth to it. Sticking around your melee based enemies so the ranged enemies wont shoot at you (Yes! They don't want to hurt their buddies), or deciding whether to perform a heavy attack to get some breathing room, or chaining light attacks to finish off your opponents are amazing aspects of the game.
I personally loved the hunter class sentinels. The way they can reach out to great lengths during attacking makes evading them that much more fun.

-- You don't need to get the collectibles! I know! Craaazy! Seriously tho, it boils my blood how people always bring up the "Oh, but the security chips, and you have stop and-- blah blah" No, YOU. DON'T. NEED. TO. GET. THOSE. CHIPS. They barely provide any XP, they have no purpose whatsoever.
IF YOU DON'T LIKE TO STOP AND BREAK THE FLOW, THEN DON'T, easy as that.

Now obviously, the games did mess up.
-- The open world feels very disconnected and making your way from one section/region to another is an absolute pain, in the sense that the game limits you options of going from region A to region B.
-- Runner's vision is kinda janky.
-- The story as meh. The characters were nothing special, although I did like Noah a lot. Faith was... ok. Not great in any way.
-- The broken skill tree system. Some of the skills are things that shouldn't be on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ skill tree. Too broken to be fixable.
-- The combat, as a I mentioned earlier, is pretty mediocre.

(Despite everything I listed, the good things outweigh the bad by a ton. Catalyst is one of the best games mankind has seen. I'm just waiting for the day I get to hear the signature "tu TU TU tu" in an E3 presentation or smthn where they reveal ME3)

Peace, and #HaveFaith.
