Hello there, can you accept my friend request?

Aoi Blue you are such an optimist. By the time YOU feel the need to vocalize decent, it will be far too late, and I don't want you to claim that nobody warned you in time to actually do something. Even if it is to bring back the fork of FF that Debian used to maintain. (Iceweasel)

I'm a realist. I see how Mozilla treated their brand new former CEO. I see what Google is doing on YouTube, and how they conduct themselves as an employer. I see the tweets going out of current Google employees threats of black lists shared with other employers. This is all I need to assume the potential for harm. This is not a tin-foil hat wearing paranoia. This is reality, and a certain segment of our culture. Any limitation on speech is by definition censorship.

I don't have many concerns. I'm not going to go tin-foil hat just because they are studying a problem that will likely develop a means to notify users.

However, if they chose censorship, or even a notice-wall, instead of a small banner at the top of the screen, I will certainly voice my opinion to them. I suspect after they study the extent of the problem they will request user feedback, like they did with other things. They will likely put it in their test pilot system, which will give plenty of chances for them to get it in a good balance.

Considering they only notice-wall phishing sites, and even malware sites, I don't see them as censoring satire sites and opinion sites that stray from fact.

Voat, Reddit, and various image boards might be good platforms for further discussion. I would also recommend voicing your concerns directly to Mozilla via some of their official channels in case you are so inclined, just make sure to construct a cohesive and well-thought-out message.

I agree with the decision to lock the post.

The argument was losing any resemblence of productivity to the tin-foil hat pattern.
