May I comment that this game was made by a small team of indie devs.
As I said on a discussion string, adding interiors to buildings would mean a lot more geometry to render (bad for users on low-end pcs), making looting much slower (and very frustrating if you find nothing useful) as well as being ridiculously tedious to make, and making hiding in villages extremely easy and not tense at all, defeating the purpose of the game.
