This game tests where you are on the spectrum.

I started playing this game in 2015 during early access while holding my infant son. It was great then and it became even better on 1.0 release. If you're a parent gamer looking for something you can easily start and stop and love simulation games then give it a try. Best played with permadeath mode enabled.

Caution: Everyone I recommend this game to is turned away from this game. Are there only a handful of people who enjoy the idea of sandbox feudal lord games?

Pros: You can ride around on a horse and smash people in the head with your mace. You can play Drug Lord except that instead of cocaine you sell salt and wheat.

Cons: UI looks awful. Lots of systems that aren't very well explained. I did a grand tourney once and the final match was me and an AI circling eachother with lances for like 30 minutes.

10/10 Spookies. Would get spooked again.

Rough around the edges but an enjoyable sim. The interface is not great but it's better than Towns and probably not as complex as Dwarf Fortress. Every time I start up a game I play non-stop until everything falls apart. Lots of bug fixes and feature updates from the guy developing the game.

Worth checking out if you like fantasy simulation games and have a lot of patience.

This game is funny for about 10 minutes and then you realize that it's awful and don't ever play it again. It's like trying to watch a movie that you think is funny-bad and just realize that it's bad-bad.

I came into Reus not expecting much for a thrifty indy game purchase and I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of fun I've experienced. It's a real time simulation game that tickles the same nerve as some of my favorite turn based games such as Civilization. It's easy to pick up, the art is great, and there is a fair amount of depth in trying to balance out resource placement synergies.

Do you like jumping around and hitting things? Watching piles of money drop out of the bodies of your dead enemies?
