Hello. I think you change the fake and real Steam login page videos in your post here:

I'll make a suggestion if I can guurgle. Valve need to do something about these blatant scam sites being used as a user name, the forum rules are quite clear, no advertising yet here we are, blatant advertising at its worst and the mods are powerless to prevent it because they'd be editing posts all day and wouldn't even be close to catching up.

Ah! Thanks for letting me know

I hope valve will get rid somehow of those scams so people will stop getting hijacked all the time ^^;

Thanks and have a good day/night!

Thanks for the first suggestion, we already had that in mind, but making sure it's a separate window and checking for a secure connection seems to be a bit faster.

Some sites used a stripped down version of the Steam Client (such as a NodeJS module) to verify the credentials, if needed ask for a Steam Guard code and then execute arbitrary actions automatically, so this doesn't really apply in all cases.

Oi! I saw your post about phishing stuff, I think I found a safer method

Just open steamcommunity.com in new tab > login there > and click login via steam on unknown website.. if it asks you to put login/password again then it's scam, if it just shows your profile name and log-in button it's legit

also other way of checking if login via steam popup is fake is just putting anything in the login/password window, if it after that asks for mobile auth code it's scam since you put random gibberish and not actual login and password
