I got this to play with my 3 year old daughter who loves cats.

Ended up playing it to completion and unlocking all achievements even after my daughter lost interest after looking at it for 20 minutes.

The force is strong with this one as far as story and gameplay is concerned.

I won't lie, the performance is a nightmare but disabling RT definitely helps.

I hope the finale has a Sith and Jedi morality system based on how Jedi Survivor ends.

I really didn't expect to chrume so hard while playing a Robocop.

Feel bad for Robocop though, his boss made him come to work even after dying.

Got the Premium Edition on launch as I have been a huge fan of the franchise from MK9 onward primarily for the best in class story mode.

I would say the story mode is the best in the franchise so far and they have managed to wipe the slate clean and squirm themselves out of the corner with a few characters from the past games. The graphics are equally top notch and the character models and environment design is top notch once again. The stage load times are bonkers if you have the game installed on the SSD.

What really disappointed me is the customization options and variety in the game modes. MK11 had tons of customization compared to MK1 and the dragon crystals are so predatory its not even funny or amusing anymore, all the good skins are locked behind dragon crystals.

I am the worst at all fighter games so I didn't even bother with the online modes so I will refrain from commenting regarding their performance options.

All in all, I will recommend the game based solely on the Story mode. that Havik tease at the end has been waiting at the edge of my seat.

I have unlocked all achievements and have over 200 hours on Halls of Torment and will eventually get to 300 hours as they add more characters and levels.

Beautiful game with soul crushing ending.

It improves upon the original in almost every way. The facial animation could still use some work.
Every other aspect of this game is a masterpiece. If you like plot driven games, stealth adventure, tear simulators, then do not sit on this gem.

Can't wait for the teased sequel.

The game has so much testosterone I have 4 testicles now. Doom 2016 gave me an extra nut and eternal gave me another one.
Just in case any of you want an extra testicle, let me know, and I will roll one over.

To the actual review now, Doom Eternal is only the second game I have pre-ordered (first being Jedi - Fallen Order). Initially I regretted pre-ordering it as the first few levels can have information overload with so many new mechanics introduced in the first few levels and ammo is at a premium initially with the game encouraging chainsawing for ammo replenishment.

I ignored the game for more than a year after giving up on the second level. Restarted it after the second story DLC was released and cursed myself for waiting so long. The game really opens up once you unlock the super shotgun, the meat hook is in my opinion the single greatest mechanic from the last year in shooters.

Level design is miles ahead of most shooters, only fellow Bethesda studio Arkane come close for level design. The visuals are eye melting, especially after the RTX update and optimization is among the best I have seen so far. The wizards at id have done it once again like only they can.

The only part of the game that I didnt like is battlemode, not because it isnt good, but it doesnt even come close to what the single player campaign offers.

All in all 9 rips out of 10 tears.
