I am an Old-School Total Annihilation player and this definitely harkens back to the good ol' days of that. I love the non-flat map that wraps around a sphere.

I feel it necessary to post my own review of this game, which seems to be panned for its inability to run on every PC out there. This is NOT RCT2 or even RCT3. But it IS a nice game with great graphics and a very challenging Story Mode.
I am an avid, Longtime PC gamer (25+ years). I've played every Rollercoaster Tycoon game, and loved them. I STILL play RCT3 with my children. I am VERY critical of games that don't meet up to their billing. This new Iteration is NOT deserving of the bashing it is getting.
Yes, the computer requirements are steep. If you just meet the Minimum requirements, you will have a Minimum game experience. Don't put this game on the Schlock list just because your computer isn't kept "Latest & Greatest".
The Story Mode gives you a goal with a challenging start point, and you move from scenario to scenario as you complete the tasks for each level. I like the "Tycoon Points" for purchasing new designs/technologies, as it adds more depth than the previous games had. There IS a sandbox mode, where you can stretch your legs and get used to the interface and perfect your coaster-building before wasting a lot of cash in the Story Mode. You can USE the Tutorial in there to walk thru the various elements of gameplay, and learn just how different it is from previous RCT games it is.
Ther may ber a few, minor hassles like dropping a mechanic at a broken ride, then watching him walk completely away from it just to go check on a working ride. But that doesn't warrant a Terrible review.
My recommendation: Test Drive it for yourself. Steam guarantees your satisfaction, right? Purchase and play it for an hour. That will let you see if your PC can run the game. Plus, it will give you a quick look into the interface and the Story Mode. If it sucks to you, get your money back, but don't go Flaming it on the reviews.
