I had high hopes for this, seemed like one of the better terraria clones with excellent music, and had no problem waiting however long for the finished product. this isn't it. just another alpha/beta kicked out of early access for no reason. well, their reason is money, but they were barely doing anything for 11 (ELEVEN!) years and now it's sold as a 'complete game' with many promises nowhere to be found (see below) and a distinct lack of polish, which I doubt will bring in more sales than before.

at this rate, it might be something to look at in another 5-10 years if the dev sticks around, but leaving early access, especially this arbitrarily, usually means the end of development (which would be perfectly fine if the game was actually finished), despite the usual 'next chapter of the journey' or 'this is just the beginning' ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

the only setting in the main menu is for languages and there's text in the corner saying f2 goes full screen. incredibly lazy, but there's plenty of stuff in-game for gfx, audio, rebindable controls, etc. and there's optional autosave, manual save and save & exit. volumes are bugged, turning down sfx still plays them in the main menu.

various difficulty settings from easy to nightmare, a few extra options (higher level monsters, 1hp only, etc.), including 'building' for a monster-free experience, plus optional permadeath. inventory isn't dropped on death, at least on easy, but 15% of collected souls do, no toggle to make it go away. also, the game doesn't pause while the almost full screen inventory is open, another huge dealbreaker, no toggle for it either. not to mention constant crashes (not once but twice on every exit) and a bunch of typos, further signs of no care or attention.

for reference, here's the entirety of the 1.0 changelog. an absolute joke and insult, they couldn't even be bothered to list the bugfixes.
Changelog 1.0.0 - 12 december 2024

Adds:
- Guidance system: uses the completion tree to display objectives and help the player to progress.
The guidance system can be disabled in Game options.
- Option to change the direction only when moving with the keyboard (player is not facing automatically the mouse)

Changes:
- Quests and dialogs with the crystal have been removed and replaced by the guidance system
- Worm transformation is always visible

Various bugs fixed

and as another reference, a snippet from the now removed early access info just before 1.0 hit, because it's a full game now, ready to roll, even though the list of missing stuff is longer than what's in the game currently.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
Here is the list of the features that we still need to implement:

Themed dungeons | Biomes: post-hell | Biomes: sky | Technology | Vehicles & Mechs
Grapple hook / ninja rope | Modding compatibility | God Saucer (minigames area)
Tower of 100 challenges | Themed parallel dimensions | Fluid dynamics
Biomes: oceans | Fishing | Programmable robots | Wiring | Pipes | Thunder
Fire (buildings can catch on fire etc.) | Achievements / Game encyclopedia / Compendium
Temperature | Gas dynamics | Dynamic buildings (build your ship)
