Megacraft Hentai Edition is a knock-off Minecraft sandbox game with a Minecraft-like aesthetic.

“Mine” and place blocks. That’s. . . that’s all there is to Megacraft. There are no enemies or objectives, just a great big world of nothing. You can pick from three world-types, “forest”, “fall forest”, and “mountains”. You choice world is purely cosmetic; the blocks change, but the only unique item in the game is the water. Unfortunately, water is the bane of existence. Any soul unfortunate enough to fall upon open water will be rendered slow as a slug. . . a dead slug. However, with enough creativity, you can make things to do! I booted up a “mountains” world, and I sought the tallest peak I could find. From the tippy-top I made a big, black [wiener] complete with spurting jizz!

There is no story (and I’m not making one up.)

The titlescreen is nicely arranged, though I’ve seen the same waifus in the same pose one too many times. The interface for the main-menu looks great (but there’s typos. . . which I imagine were intentional — real funny guys.) The in-game user-interface is a different story, however; navigating menus is convoluted, in-part due the inability to navigate them without a cursor. Minecraft could get it right, why can’t Megacraft? There doesn’t appear to be any adjustable user-preferences, such as audio, display or graphical preferences. I have a solid PC, and I know it can handle not having unrendered voids.

Though the word “hentai” is part of this game’s name, there is no hentai to be seen. Don’t you love false advertising?

I do not recommend this game, even if you like memeware. There is absolutely nothing to do, and the game lacks the most basic features. It plays terrible, and the novelty wears off in minutes. There is nothing unique between blocks, and visual errors are commonplace. You can’t save your creations or worlds. Let that sink in; this is a Minecraft-eske game that can’t even save your work. By golly, Megacraft is Megacrap. Don’t buy.
