Absolute classic that has aged well, enjoyable for all ages. One of those all-time greats that everyone should play and everyone WILL love.

This game surprised me. It was actually quite fun. Also, I'm someone who thinks Shaquille O'Neal is NOT FUNNY, but the game's humor amused me and had me chuckling throughout. This is definitely only for those looking for a quick playthrough and a single player beat 'em up experience. Steam says I spent three hours on this, though I feel like it was a little longer. In any case, it was the right duration for the game. It doesn't overstay its welcome.

The GOOD
Really nice graphics. Nice detail and colorful.
Controls were good.
Fighting was relatively basic but had enough to keep me going given the limited duration of the game.
Checkpoints were spaced out pretty well.
Fairly good variety of enemies.
Fun power-ups. They were way over-powered, but I think that was purposely done.
As mentioned before, humor was a plus, which surprised me. I thought some of it was clever and witty rather than juvenile.

The BAD
Nothing really stands out as being bad. If this were a longer game, I would expect more variety, but for the relatively short length of the game, it was good, mindless fun.

The NEUTRAL
I would have liked a screen-clearing special move like what you see with games like Streets of Rage. That said, some of the aforementioned power-ups were so OP'd that they were similar to this.

Quick Verdict
All in all, a fun little indie game. It takes a little getting into, but once you've passed the second mission and gotten used to the controls, it goes pretty quickly. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to buy it if I had a huge backlog. But if you have it and want a relatively mindless experience with a tiny modicum of challenge, then it's a good one to play and finish over a weekend.

The GOOD
Controls were tight. Character movement didn't too floaty or anything.

Some light stealth options. But other than maybe two missions that require absolute stealth, you can also win by going in with guns blazing or shifting to attack when you fail in stealth.

Some of the missions are just about getting to the end of the level. In other cases there are bosses, which are pretty varied in their appearances and attacks. I'd say they're quite easy to beat with just a little thought to identify the pattern.

Two different endings (I think). You can load your previous game to replay just the end, so no need to go through an entirely new playthrough.

The BAD (or at least less good in this case)
One thing the game would benefit from is a map. I got lost a couple of times and it was frustrating running back and forth to find the target building, but fortunately the locations aren't too big, so ultimately I found what I was looking for.

The NEUTRAL
The story line made sense in a weird way. The idea of making trans population persecuted felt like a SJW message, but it was a creative way of doing it.

Experienced gamers will find this a little slow. However, the early levels are GREAT for young kids who are learning how to play platformers. The easy jumps, limited spikes and reasonable numbers of enemies that do not re-spawn make this a great opportunity for young ones to practice.

Overall, it is quite a nice game that scales up well in difficulty. The game follows a lost alien as he tries to regain access to his ship and his weapons. The weapons, of which you will typically regain one each level, also add to the diversity of the experience by giving you new weapons or adding new mechanisms with which to tackle levels.

I am really enjoying Deadfall Adventures. First-person viewpoint games give me a headache, and this one does, too, but it's not a twitch-shooting FPS, so it's not that bad.

For all the complaints you may read about Deadfall Adventures, I am really enjoying it. Ultimately, this is just a fun game that puts you in the shoes of an Indiana Jones or Lara Croft-like character, though more of an adventurer and less a knowledgeable archaeologist (like Indiana) and less of a bad-ass (like Lara) ... and now that I think about it, more like a Bard (from The Bard's Tale) in that he's a confident, sarcastic guy who just goes with the flow.

Lots of exploration and different environments -- check the Guides section for the guide for Collectibles, and you'll see all the places you'll go just from the YouTube video headings.

Puzzles are pretty easy (so far), so the focus is on fun and exploration and environment.

Fighting is likewise pretty easy, at least on the Normal setting. You don't have to be spot on with your aim. This is good for me because I suck at aiming.

This game isn't horrible. It's just very mediocre, uninspired and repetitive. I would recommend that people prioritize other beat 'em ups over this one. The game also isn't as ecchi as you'd expect. It's just one pervy picture of an NPC just before you battle a boss.

The good
  • It takes about two hours to beat the game. I was quite bored by the end, so I'm glad it was only two hours.
  • The weapon system is pretty easy. Pick up the weapons that represent an upgrade and don't pick up (or just drop) the ones that don't. Slow weapons are terrible. Strong bow and arrows are the best weapon.
  • Character upgrade system that is affordable. By the end, assuming you have a good weapon, you'll be nicely overpowered.
  • Some of the items you can carry will give you passive abilities, like life regeneration. By the end, most of your slots will likely be allocated towards such special items.

The bad
  • Pure button masher. No real combos. Just swing and swing until the enemies are dead.
  • Bosses are pretty unimpressive. Just swing and move around a bit to dodge their worst attacks. No real pattern or thought required.
  • Pretty much the same enemies over and over again, and they sometimes have lots of life, so killing them is tedious but necessary.
  • Upgrade system makes certain elements of the game useless. Just invest first and foremost in strength and speed, and only invest in food upgrades to the extent that you extend the upgrade tree; no need to max out food upgrades.
  • Some of the items that give you passive abilities, like life regeneration, make certain items, like life and armor, useless.

I picked this up because it looked colorful and fun ... like a nice game that I could pick up and play for a few minutes in between things and then put down and move on with my day. Unfortunately, I didn't bother to actually watch any YouTube gameplay videos, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered. Just read the front page reviews, and the negative ones are all pretty spot-on; at least the ones I read were negative but very fair.

  • Very repetitive. This is an auto-runner in which you can run (automatically), jump, double jump, and use your mouse to shoot. The action makes this a half-step above most auto-runners, but ultimately there's just not enough variety.
  • I would have liked this more if the scale / view was better. It just feels way too zoomed in and claustrophobic for an auto-runner.
  • Graphics are okay. Not bad but nothing amazing. If you have ever played a mobile phone game on a tablet and feel like the pixels were just blown up, you'll probably feel the same when playing this on your PC screen.
  • As others have mentioned, the bosses look nice and are fun, but there's not much challenge. The platforming offers the most challenge ... but really also the most frustration.
  • What is with not having an exit button? I have to quite this using Task Manager.
  • The menu screen is really laggy and sometimes unresponsive. Going back always works, but starting or continuing a game often just doesn't work. As it stands, I can't even continue my saved game.

Also, for reference, I beat the third level and kept dying on the fourth level. So, hey, maybe it gets a lot better after that, but I really wasn't enjoying the game enough to bother going further.

Overall, probably a 2/10.

I think this is one of those games where you either love it or hate it. For me, it is the latter ... and it is mainly because the game just doesn't really sing to me. There's another negative review in which the reviewer claims to have wanted to love it. I am the same. Technically, it is well done. But there's just no fun factor.

The good:
  • Quick, pick-up-and-play game.
  • Works equally well with keyboard or controller. I think this may be a mobile game, too, and I can see touch controls also working well.
  • Seems pretty stable, which it should be given its simplicity.
  • Cute pixel graphics.
  • Variety of enemies with their specific quirks.
  • The puzzles work. If you can't figure out the right path, it is because of you, not the game.
  • Experience system that adds more life, and gives you more options on how to tackle each level.

The bad:
  • It is just kind of boring ... at least for me.

Ultimately, it is not a bad game. You can hopefully tell from the long list of pros and the one very individually oriented con. The right people will love it. The rest of us will have better games in our backlog to move onto.

Eh, pretty boring. Not a great take on the Match-3 (in this case Match-4) genre. You basically make enough matches to gain resources to build dungeon rooms, which just entails clicking on a desired room, then populating them with minions. It is not as fun as it sounds. Part of the problem is that it is not particularly fast paced on the matching -- it is super slow and dull. And it's a little vague and hectic when placing your minions. The balance is off.

I still prefer games like Hunie Pop and Puzzle Quest over this.

I liked this game. It is a good story with some nice character and story development, so the potential is there. The problem is that it just felt artificially short. Short games are fine, but not when it rushes you to an incomplete, to-be-continued ending, and there's since been no follow-up.

I will recommend this game, but with the caveat that you should NOT buy it anywhere near full price, and you should be aware that you're getting a short game that feels like it is half or one-third of a full game. Know what you're getting yourself into. For me, I didn't regret playing it; I was just disappointed by the "ending" and lack of a next episode.
