Picked up with a 20% discount, and honestly was not disappointed (got 100+ hours out of it). Definitely feels like a Mount & Blade game -- if you've played Warband before you'll immediately figure out most things & have fun with it. The new additions seem interesting, but not terribly well polished, and in general it feels like the game could use a lot of balancing (some battles result in too much/too little loot, skill XP gain is incredibly slow etc.).

There's a solid game in there somewhere, and the devs have been pumping out hotfix patches on a near-daily basis since launch, which is much appreciated. This isn't a major studio that pumps out cash-grab titles left & right, so I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and expect them to keep improving on the game, so I can fully recommend it without reservations (as is the case with Warband). I might need to put it down soon and come back to it after they'll have had time to polish (+ hopefully some mods will eventually appear).

TL;DR If you're a fan of the series and super hyped, you probably won't regret buying as-is. Otherwise if you can be patient, might be better to wait until they smooth out the rough edges.

An incredible time sink -- one of those games that you can get more fun out of by thinking about strategies when not playing it, rather than the gameplay itself. A single end-to-end playthrough can easily take dozens of hours, though you're likely to restart over and over just to get a little bit closer to "optimal". On that alone, it's well worth the asking price, the amount of content provided makes for one of the best bang-for-buck gaming ratios I've seen.

Takes a while to get into. Once you do, you could potentially spend hundreds of hours on it. Way too much overpriced DLC, but some of it is near-essential (there are guides on reddit to help you choose). Wait for 50-75% discounts before buying.

Strong contender for the "Fallout without guns" award.

Played all 3 previous games. Loved all of them (maybe the 3rd one not so much, but had to see how the trilogy ended).
Got this one for free, and I'm absolutely loving it. You can probably skip the first 3 games and go straight to this one if you haven't played any of the previous games and get a similar experience.

Finished the game in ~13 hours according to Steam, had to post something to counteract the mixed reviews that might scare away potential new players.

The game is not *bad*, and I haven't experienced any technical glitches or anything like that to ruin my experience. Plus, for the 11 Euros I paid for it, some might argue I got my money's worth (I actually only did it to complete my collection and receive the Final Cut for free).

The story is cute, as always, though maybe a bit repetitive and predictable. I feel that, considering the scope of this game, it would've fit better as the second title in the series. Having played the considerably more vast Van Helsing 2, I can see how you might find the end of the trilogy somewhat underwhelming.

Really not a bad game, if you go into it with realistic expectations about what it is. Doing a little bit of research before purchasing a title goes a long way to prevent feeling cheated after the fact.
