I've waited to make my review because I saw a lot of potential in Starsand Island. Unfortunately, there's no coming back from how the developers have handled things. The game is riddled with AI, the discord community is toxic, the developers lied about being a small studio and paid for fake positive reviews upon early access release. The list just keeps going. The graphics are cute, yes. But that's all you're going to get for the completely unreasonable price of $40. There's an issue with unneeded data collection that the developers will not fully address. Many players feel unsafe playing. The characters in the game have no personality and there really isn't a point in building any sort of friendship or relationship with them. The majority of the gameplay is a mindless grind. The game is so lacking in any form of soul or feeling that I do not feel compelled in the slightest to grind to 1 million to reach the next step in the story. In terms of story, there isn't one. It's been a complaint since EA release. Another complaint that has been entirely ignored by the developers.
