In topic Error on launch - cannot find the path specified
Sounds like we all had different reasons for failure :)

FatMonk and scdewit75 appear to have had more run-of-the-mill permissions issues and mine was a little more exotic :D

Hope this helps people!

Ok, I've solved it.

Open regedit (Windows Key -> regedit) and navigate to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

In the list you will see a bunch of user profile folders including 'Perrsonal'. In my case it was set to a non-existent path on a drive that no longer exists (at some point in the past I moved my Documents to a nonstandard location).

Edit the registry entry to point to a valid 'My Documents' or 'Documents' folder on your machine (or wherever you want it to save to). Check all the other paths in this folder to be sure too, I had one other that was also wrong.

No need to reboot, just launch.

In case anyone from Larian reads this - you need a more robust way to detect a valid Documents folder or at least a better error message. This is probably an uncommon case though since it requires the system to be misconfigured, essentially.

(And to clarify, it's probably nothing to do with my mess of a Microsoft account)

Ok, I think this is related to my Microsoft account associated with Windows being messed up. My guess would be BG3 is asking Windows "what's this guy's username" and Windows responds with "I dunno, I'm confused, he's signed in with like 3 accounts".

Still investigating... I'm gonna play tonight no matter what....

It looks like it's supposed to create a folder in 'Documents' (%userprofile%\Documents\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3). I created this by bringing over a valid BG3 folder from my laptop (which does work) but it didn't fix it.

I suspect this is some sort of system environment variable that's supposed to return the above path, but instead returns nothing, resulting in this abnormal path that doesn't (and can't) exist.

I'm going to see if I can figure out the difference between my two machines.

In topic Error on launch - cannot find the path specified
I closed OneDrive and NextCloud to be sure. Same thing.

I've found if I dismiss the error and do _nothing_ else the game does load. But changing _any_ settings crashes. Probably because it's trying to write settings to the directory that doesn't exist.

Can anyone tell me where this directory _should_ be? Then I can create it manually and make sure it has global permissions.

When I launch the game from the launcher (with Steam open) I get a path error immediately and the game doesn't launch.

Tried verifying local files and launching the executable directly as admin.

Failed to create dir:\\?\\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3. The system cannot find the path specified.

So can't play at all yet :(

In topic Use with Tilt Brush
Hi Gary,

Unfortunately Tilt Brush has updated their title in a way that makes MixCast Capture no longer able to capture it. We have a solution in the works but it will likely be after our imminent 2.0 release! Sorry for the trouble, we're looking forward to working with Tilt Brush again soon!

For the time being Tilt Brush has been removed from our compatibility page.

HI erik,

Room-scale VR and 1:1 interaction with your hands and the puzzle parts are key elements of the Awaken experience, so currently there are no plans to release a non-VR version of Awaken.

Thanks for your question!

Hi Popnhand,

Sorry you're having issues with Capture. Can you please try running Capture as an administrator and tell me what happens when you launch Audioshield? You may need to find the Capture application in <steamfolder>\Steamapps\Common\MixCast VR Studio\Capture\MixCastCapture.exe

Could you please also check your Windows version in your 'About' screen in Windows. It should be a 4-digit number (mine's 1709). I'd recommend updating to the Windows Creators' Update if you haven't already as well.

Feel free to submit a support ticket about this at - you'll get quicker responses from us that way!

Hi Popnhand,

What are you seeing in MixCast Capture? Is there any text/warning on-screen?

Hi RadicaLee!

You can find out more about how to find other's levels with this follow-up video:

In short, head to the purple altar to the right of the create altar (when viewed from the starting point of the sanctuary hub area), and place one of the totems on the altar to indicate which world you'd like to find puzzles for.

In topic problem with level 15 (2nd world)
Hi Mantronix!

This means you need to get a certain sequence of hot/cold/normal balls into the goal. For instance, if the markings were blue-red-blue, you'd need to ensure that a cold ball, then a hot ball, then another cold ball made it into the goal.

Let me know if I can explain further!
