Don't buy this. It would be a decent game if Payday 2 never existed. They didn't incorporate many fun elements from the previous game, and unnecessarily changed or reinvented things instead that never had any problems in the first place. Just a few issues to mention: boring repetitive content, nonsense challenge-based progression, ambiguous reward system, non-regenerative health/armor, no offline mode, very unintuitive UI, and limited in-game comms. Launch went absurdly bad, and Starbreeze was incapable of fixing the situation for weeks, leaving many players unable to play the game. The first patch took more than one month to arrive.

phasmophobia, but better

It's respectable that this game spawned a new genre in horror games, too bad they had to ruin it with getting too comfortable and not releasing any significant updates, or progressing the game in any direction. Other games, like Demonologist, have caught up in terms of quality and content so much that they truly deserve all the attention this game gets, and more.

Despite the hype and popularity, and millions of dollars in revenue, this game is still stuck in early access after 3-4 years, which is being used as an excuse to being completely broken and unplayable after every update. As of writing this, there has been no new content to this game in the last 12 months. The dev team worked on a major update for a year which still added no new maps or any meaningful content, just introduced tiered variants to the existing items, and made everything a little worse. Broken lighting system, inconsistent ghosts and evidences, broken items, de-sync between players, lag spikes, broken voice chat, broken audio mixing. Also, every single item and map in this game is built from premade assets from the Unity Asset Store.

Besides this, the game has a cancerous fanboy community that has very low standards towards this game, and is completely disconnected from the reality of how bad of a state this game is in, and otherwise how good it really could be if the developers cared even just a bit.
