Surprisingly good action platformer that scratches a similar itch to Dead Cells.
Large selection of Skulls (classes/weapons of sorts, you can have up to 2 and swap between them on the fly), items (passive bonuses) and quintessences (extra skills that are not tied to Skulls) creates a lot of build variety :)

My only gripe is lack of alternate stages, the starting Forest area gets boring after several dozens of restarts. Hopefully a future patch or DLC can add more levels/enemy types in the vein of Binding of Isaac or Dead Cells DLC.

Too shallow for the price. The gameplay loop is a little bit too minimalistic and gets repetitive too quickly.

I like the game - the writing is good, the characters have some charm to them, the mechanics are Xcom-lite. The price is way too high though and if I did not get it as a gift I would buy it on 50% sale.

After reading up the highly informed opinions of my esteemed fellow Total Warhammer enjoyers I felt compelled to leave a positive not-review and to pre-order the upcoming DLC.

10/10, best company in the market, something, something.

Wish there was a "Neutral" option in Steam reviews.
The game is not the worst of its genre but also doesn't do anything particularly interesting that other titles have not done before.
I'd recommend to get it on sale for people who have already played through more high-profile metroidlikes ^^

Didn't expect such poor technical level from this game. Despite having all drivers updated, on RTX 3070 Ti, 16GB RAM, Ryzen 5 1600, so far the game had 5 crashes during the first tutorial, half of camera settings didn't work at all and the tutorial itself was rough (sometimes the objectives didn't register properly) and it didn't detect my keyboard at all at first (had to disable analog functions in firmware and use non-standard game launch options for it to work),

The game itself seems to be targeted at boomer demographic from it's tone and humour, but yet is too complex for someone the age of my mom to enjoy it.
Shame about the bugs and crashes as the animal animations are pretty good and we could use a good modern animal-themed tycoon game :(

If I didn't get it from Humble Bundle I would refund it.
4/10

From the early reviews I was worried that this game will be too shallow and uninteresting, but it turned out to be just right for me to relax after work when I don't have the brainpower to play something like Anno 1800.

+ intuitive controls
+ comprehensive tutorial
+ just the right amount of complexity
+ music that sets the mood perfectly
+ free post-launch updates that introduced more features

- could do with just one more level of zoom and graphic fidelity
- only some workers can be clicked and tracked and their voice acting is hilariously bad :D

Overall much more than I expected, totally get this game on sale if you like relaxed city builders ^^

An interesting evolution/different take on HoMM-like turn-based strategy series :)
Turn-based battles from HoMM that often turned into repetitive slogs switched to fast-paced autobattler, where positioning is often more important than raw numbers.

+ decent tiles (map moreso than units, I wish units were a tad bit more detailed and distinguishable on the battlefield)
+ charming animations (little things like floating pickups on water or airborne gargoyles dropping enemies to their deaths)
+ variety of castles, units and spells
+ fast pace - it would beat any HoMM title for quick multiplayer sessions if not...

- lack of online multiplayer (very bad for a title that seems made for multiplayer skirmishes in mind)
- no single player campaign
- no story and lore of any sort, even in the form of item descriptions
- AI could get a little more polish, in the 2 hours I played it never retreated once and wiped full armies on walls several times. It should be able to retreat as even in 26 year-old HoMM2 the AI can do it. It also seems to make sub-par decisions like rushing the towns while ignoring nearby threats (but I have not tested higher difficulty settings, maybe it plays a bit smarter on those)

7/10, would recommend for any fans of the genre, tho for 5-7 euros less than it currently costs or maybe as part of a bundle.

PC port is way too shoddy, even Dark Souls 2 had a better one.
Shader-related stutters, frame drops, occasional crashes.
Forced Vsync, no widescreen support and a 60 fps cap (in 2022) that doesn't even help to keep a consistent framerate :/

The only redeeming factor is the Polish translation which gave me a lot of laughs :D
Overall experience (translation included) reminds me of Dark Souls 1 Prepare to Die Edition without DSFix installed.
