Letter Vetter is not my kind of a game. Maybe for some people it's enjoyable, relaxing, and fun, but for me, the hour I put into it felt meaningless. Harsh as that may seem, I really had to stop playing because I was so bored out of my mind.

I kept an open mind going in, I really did. I thought the concept would work. And a description that says that it balances an Agatha Christie mystery and Tolkien's the shire will get my interest fairly quickly. Once the game got going, my eyes started to stray, my mind started to wander, and I wasn't really sure what I was doing rather quickly.

It's not that I don't understand the game. I understand it perfectly fine. You play as someone scanning physical correspondences coming and going from the town and try to make sure there are no war criminals lingering around in the small place by trying to catch suspicious letters. You can send up to two suspicious letters per day to your superior, who will then give you feedback on the letters you send.

To be honest, I was trying to scrutinize the letters and envelopes as I was instructed to do, I sent off anything suspicious I thought was worth mentioning, and I often got feedback that what I was sending was meaningless. I got really bored after a while and didn't think playing more would yield more meaningful results for me.

On top of that the UI doesn't work well and mostly doesn't make sense. You only have the time between looking the envelope and the letter to decide whether to send it off to your superior. When you have a stack of letters to review and you can only send on two letters, wouldn't it make sense if you could look at all of them and then decide which ones to forward?

Letter Vetter simply failed to capture my interest and so I decided to move on. Like I said, someone might find it interesting, but it's just not for me. And as such, I cannot recommend it.
