What a glorious game this is. I love Bethesda open worlds. I have played all of their creations since Morrowind and had a great time. But what do I love more than Fantasy, or post apocalypic settings? I love SPACE. This is a Bethesda open world in space. I came in knowing if it was even a little bit good, I was going to love it, and I do.

I have some complaints. I have done the same dungeon quite a few times now. I wish I could get better than 60 fps on my modern hardware, and exploration doesn't feel quite as rewarding as No Mans Sky, but this game is a lot of fun anyways.

This is the first Bethesda game where I actually finished the main story. I have put thousands of hours into their worlds, and never did I finish a MSQ. Until this game. It's not the best story, but I liked it.

When modding comes to this game, I know I will get a ton more hours out of it too. Looking forward to that.

Solid recommendation from me, if you like Bethesda open worlds and scifi.

A simulation beyond compare, Dwarf Fortress is the foremost of the genre of "storyteller" games coined by Rimworld. This Steam release is it's best iteration yet.

Early Access Review
This game is excellent. I had a great time. Great podcast game.

I did a third, fully fresh playthrough for 1.0, and it took me about 45 hours. YMMV depending on skill (I am pretty good at this point) but that should give you an idea of how much content there is.

I have been in a racing mood lately. I fired up The Crew 1 first to continue that one's story. I played several missions and then hit one that was stupidly hard. I couldn't manage it after 10 attempts. I then decided to hit the open world and get a shiny new car. But then I looked, and saw how much pure grinding it would take to get the car I wanted, and uninstalled the game.

So next I fired up Burnout Paradise. I had a blast in it's very arcadey world, smashing stuff, but eventually the lack of variety burned me out.

But I was still in a racing mood, and saw a youtube video for this game. I bought it right away.

Forza Horizon 5 is a blast. It has a great variety of activities to do. It has an awesome number of options for driving that let you play a very arcadey game or a very simulationist one. And the cars. Oh my goodness. There are so many cars in the game. 535 apparently. The game hands you cars left and right. And I love putting anime skins on them and rolling around honking at other players with a musical horn. And I can race with my buddies! I suck, but it's fun anyways.

I am very happy with FH5 and recommend it to anyone in a racing mood.

This is an excellent PC port that performs awesomely on my aging hardware (970). The only two tiny bugs I have noticed were ones that were in the PS4 version, and neither has impacted me in any way.

Game itself is lots of fun. I like the slower pace and grittier setting. I am not much of one for zombies, but when done right, they can be great. It's been a while since I saw a good one.

My brother also played this game through family sharing and this is what he had to say:

"If you want to get as invested in the story of a video game as you would a well-done TV show or movie series, you should play this. The visuals, acting, character building, and music are amazing and beautiful, but it's absolutely the story that stands out for me (in combination with perfectly timed music). The story truly plays out like a well-done television show or movie series, both convincing, real, gritty, beautiful, and very emotionally moving. Full disclosure: I cried multiple times during this game, which I do tend to do during the very best media I consume. The gameplay got a little grindy 2/3 of the way through, but I'm a little more short on free time so I tend to aim for less grindiness in my gaming. The story is absolutely worth it though. Best I've seen in any video game, quite honestly, and in general the best game I've played in the zombie genre."

My favorite survival game. Fighting the cold is the most natural enemy, it just works really well.

Massive QoL improvements over the previous games make this a lot of fun.
