This doesn't seem anything much and those developers don't know much of game development. And are fucked in the head, if even that.
However, within my friends and reddit, I have heard that this situation has been reported to the FBI: T&C (Threats and Crime). A dude actually walked to his local FBI center and reported this and even posted the documents. The reddit thread has been sadly removed for some reason.
Note that meanwhile I am not religious I am not against religions neither. However, as you all know internet is a fucked up place. Terrorists use it, propaganda takes place on internet and a lot of terrorism happens on internet, however more on Deep Web.
However, in this case, I think the game is just a buggy mess, the developers don't know much of game development and tried to put in an easter egg which may seem like an usual theme in their religion.
Once again, I am not against anyone, simply pointing out stuff.
Cheers
If this is true and the developers are actually somewhat connected to terrorism I recommend you to contact your countries Counter-Terrorism organization, however there reports will be taken seriously, especially with the current state of terrorism in the actual world.
I also wanted to point out couple laws since I have a neighbor and a friend working at police.
Article 7 of the Printing and Publications Act No. 8 of 1998 sets out the ethical rules that apply to journalism and the conduct of journalists. It is illegal to publish material likely to stir up hatred or to make propaganda with a view to setting citizens against one another.
45-5-203: It is illegal to threaten a person, if the threatening person actually means it. This can be reported to Valve and will be treated very seriously. You can report a threat to your local police department who will than track the threatening user down, this can also be done in another country.
But, the threat wasn't so serious here.
Also. I want to point out that I was not the first person to comment on this. The person who explained it in another thread had it deleted by the dev in like 2 mins. I didn't pay enough attention for all the details on it sadly so I don't know who the person was.
Why do you think having religious text in a video game - in the install files no less - is illegal?
No, i'm talking you down because you're spinning an idiotic narrative, and it is clear from the very first paragraphs what sort of narrative it is. It is very easy to spin a made-up narrative in a completely other direction. I really couldn't give one toss what your personal opinion is. It's just this stupid "social justice" bullshit should find itself in the bottom of the waste barrel.
A developer's personal opinions or words don't matter at all. It's the game that matters, and the game you're reviewing.
Furthemore, the chatlogs clearly show you harrassing the developer, not the other way around, and the supposed threats they made... which we're supposed to take at face value, are curiously missing.
