A good strategy game and a worthy successor of Star Wars Rebellion. It is still a joy to watch a space battle with x-wing and tie fighters dogfighting around a Star Destroyer just as a Y-wing bombing run destroys its shields while a Mon Calamari jumps into the fray straight out of hiding in a nebula. If you like Star Wars and strategy games, you will want to give this classic a try.

A neat and pretty stealth game with satisfying gameplay. Work in and with the shadows as a summoned-assassin, either as full stealth or by using special assassination techniques and powerful limited-use tricks. A pleasant surprise overall.

It's a simple game about pixels that somehow manages to tell a moving story. Definitely worth playing.

Contrast is a short game, even if you fully explore the levels looking for every collectible bit, that won't last you more than a couple of hours with very little replay value. But those couple hours that you spend with it are really good.
In Contrast you play as a character that can use her acrobatic skills in both the "real" world and the shadow world that is created from the different light sources in the late Belle Époque/1920s Noire Paris-inspired dream world that you dwell in. Along with a great jazz soundtrack and good voice work, the story flows nicely and provides a satisfying conclusion in the end, with some interesting puzzles throughout that use the shadow dynamic the game is built upon rather well. The controls work fine, even though it feels a bit clunky and not very precise when jumping in the 3D world while the transition from the 2D shadow world to the 3D real world isn't as precise in some areas that can lead to some frustration at times. In the end, I felt wanting for more but maybe the novelty of it all might have worn out with a longer game.

Overall, I think it is a great game that might be overlooked by some... don't make that mistake! If you like platform adventures that provide you with beautiful environments, delightful story, top notch soundtrack, interesting puzzles and refreshing use of platform mechanics that you can finish during a rainy afternoon that leaves you stuck at home, this is the game you're looking for.

Mars: War Logs has been called a Budget Mass Effect and that actually is a good description. A solid scifi RPG with a combat system akin to that of The Witcher with an interesting setting that reminded me of Red Faction Guerilla (stuck in Mars, fighting an oppressive and greedy regime) and somewhat short length when compared to other more expensive RPGs although your decisions affect the story and the way the characters react to you so it can warrant multiple playthroughs if you're into that, not to mention a large skill tree that you won't be able to master all the branches of in one playthrough.
I really liked the weapon and armour crafting system that relies on you salvaging materials and make improvements on basic objects that you buy or find, allowing you to turn a simple copper tube into a spiked instrument of death with plenty of combat bonuses for example. Oh and the music was nice with a futuristic vibe like Deus Ex:HR's soundtrack.
On the other hand, the stealth system felt a bit clunky while the dialogue and the voice acting had a lot of ups and (mostly) downs, something to be expected in smaller games like this one I suppose. Also, you can only have one companion with you while exploring, which is a shame since you can get some interesting remarks from them as you interact with NPCs and complete quests (you can still talk with the others and find out more about them at your hideout) and only Mary seemed to be of any use during a battle.

All in all, I had a pretty good time with Mars: War Logs although it felt like a budget title normally does: pleasant visuals with good ideas but short and rough around the edges. But I liked it enough (mainly due to the setting and the companions with Innocence being a high point for me) to get me to write this recommendation to anyone looking for a cheap RPG on a steam sale that puts its emphasis on story and setting and will keep you occupied for a couple of afternoons until the next big-budget RPG release that everyone wants to play comes out.

I cannot recommend this game enough. If you have ever felt any desire to command a small spaceship (and perform such tasks as shout at the engineer to max the shields, divert power to the medbay to heal the security guy that just came back from teleporting to the enemy vessel, command to fire at the hostiles, etc) this is a game you will enjoy. A roguelike that is as hard as it is rewarding and the random paths/events/unlocks will keep you coming back again and again. At this low price, it is a must have for nearly anyone.

A great game, different from anything else out there since we're talking about a first person platformer/ parkour simulator if you will. The main story is short but is interesting enough for you to return again and you'll also have the opportunity to play time trials, which take advantage of the gorgeous scenarios used in the story but that you probably ran by them too fast to appreciate.
