Hunt down the Freeman is not a game. It's art, it's a beautiful, thoughtful and an incredible metaphor on life itself.

One of its many genius designs is the fact that you can't actually unlock any of the achievements. To normal people, this is just a glitch and will dismiss it completely, but to people that have watch Rick and Morty about 5 times and that still, to this day, left serious comments on Nostalgia Critic videos will be able to tell you that this is, in fact referring how we as people a have our dreams, our goals, our "achievements" that we struggle to get, but in the end no matter what we do we just can't achieve them, and I instead we are stuck in an endless loop of working towards an unreachable goal.

However, that isn't the only brilliant metaphor on life that this game provides, in the second chapter I fell down an elevator shaft and I couldn't get up no matter what I did, my only option was to jump in a hole that would kill me, but doing so would just respawn me in the same elevator shaft. At first, I didn't know how such a thing was possible,it was like this game wasn't play tested at all, but then it clicked, this is how life is. A box that constricts us and brings us down, and the only escape from it, is death itself.

So with all that said I got to say that personally, I will refund the game, since I just lack the mental capacity to truly understand the genius of this game.

EDIT 2: "Hunt down the freeman" or how I like to call it Hunt down the next level transition cause that's what ya actually hunting down in this game" is a game I have a weird relationship with. I personally played this game before and even left a review....but I refunded the game, I decided to get it again so here we are again! This time I actually hated myself enough to play this game until the end and ooooooooooooooooooooh boy do I have some great things to say about this.

Ah yes, the story, when someone thinks about half-life the amazing story the games give us is one of the first things that come to mind. And this game is no exception, the story is amazing if ya compare it to those free story levels you find on the gmod workshop with the score of -5 stars. For real tho this story just made 0 sense. The cutscenes didn't feel planned right, I meet so many characters that died like instantly or just left the game never to return(can't blame them and those that stuck around were bland, forgettable and uninteresting, the only one I remember is NIck, but not because he was cool, but because he is voiced by "I hate everything". Staying on the topic of YouTubers, there were so many of them I couldn't concentrate at all, like how can I take a scene where the president is telling us that we lost the 7 hours war when it's voice by KeemStar. It just felt like the game is trying to distract us from the bad story using people we actually like, but in reality, it just makes things worse.

Oh man the gameplay, the ♥♥♥♥ing gameplay. The game movement and shooting is kinda ok since it's just stolen from other source game, but the level design is garbage.

These maps don't feel like they are for a story game, they feel like they are for Gmod, they are big and empty, with bearly anything to do in them, and when you do get something to do its crap. The puzzles are really bad and confusing having no sense to them or any indication of what ya should do. And if ya don't get a puzzle you get to fight a ♥♥♥♥ load of enemies in the open, again it feels like someone made this game in gmod. Now you may say "Oh I'm sure the characters give ya info on what to do", and yes they do, but it's usually covered up by other sounds, and before you say it, no subtitles don't work in this game so yer ♥♥♥♥ed anyway.

The guns are...ok, I kinda liked them, they felt ok to use, that's all I can say about it, however, the inventory system they added is so bad, instead of a convenient hud you need to open a backpack, select a weapon, and then scroll to the weapon to use it.

Hunt down the freman is a masterpiece that people just don't understand. This is the true representation of what modern art is to the common consumer. Many people will say that modern art is just weird ♥♥♥♥♥♥ drawings, but in reality, only people with a lot of IQ and knowledge can understand them. Hunt down the freeman is no exception, the game provokes the modern standards of video game and breaks it to give us a truly unique experience. The game tells the story of life! How life is disappointing and unrewarding referenced in the fact the game is dog ♥♥♥♥. How life is just a giant wasteland where all we do is work referenced in the absolute empty maps the game provides. How everything in life that we get to know will ultimately die or just disappear forever, never truly serving a purpose, referenced through all of the characters in the cutscenes that do absolutely nothing. And how life will keep trowing confusing and unfair challenges in our way to try and stop us, referenced by the puzzles and enemy fights.

So should you buy this game? Only if you are a grandmaster of video games with the IQ of at the very least double of peanut and way to much free time on yer hands, then YES
