A somewhat shallow but very wide and varied sandbox game, and with its impeccable vibes and the love and passion the devs have just poured into it for eight years straight, I can't help but recommend it.

People talk a lot about "investments", but the thing about investments is that you're not guaranteed a return. ♥♥♥♥ happens. ♥♥♥♥ happened to Airship Syndicate. ♥♥♥♥ happened to this game. ♥♥♥♥ happened to us who bought it.

We lost the "MMO" but what did we get instead? Actual content instead of "infinitely replayable" live-service mush, improved progression that's not a copypaste of Warframe's, getting to play without rubberbanding or input lag or ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ server downtime, the removal of the cosmetics shop that was quite obviously forced on the game and all its contents turned into earnable loot.

I'm still going to enjoy this because I'm in it for the world, the characters, and the gameplay. I'm not gonna cry over the loss of online functions that never existed beyond a log-in screen and a shared hub that added nothing except letting whales flaunt their microtransaction purchases. But if that's the kind of stuff you want, let AS know; the game's not finished. The ability to host your own server isn't off the table.

Haven't played in months and I'm still waiting for the time to get back into it but all I see is the game just getting worse and more unstable.

An absolute gem of a game, especially considering the AAA-climate of recent years. Beyond being a generally fantastic game, it has some of the most stunning environments I've seen in a game ever. Climbing the Origin Tree on Kashyyyk is a one-of-a-kind experience.

My only gripe would be the uneven difficulty options, where the second-highest (Jedi Master) is still a bit easy while the highest (Jedi Grandmaster) leans a bit much into the artificial, with the increase to enemy damage and aggression making group fights very messy and certain boss attack capable of near-oneshotting the player. Something in-between would have been ideal, methinks. Still finished it on Grandmaster.

And yes, it's a "Souls-like". As silly of a term as it is, in this case it would be quite accurate. Never played Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice myself, but I believe that's what this game would compare most to.

It's a Must Buy for anyone who likes open-world action-adventures. Worth it at full price.
