The topic got answered, if you want to discuss a different game feel free to discuss it on their forums or the merged topic we have instead.

In topic Thank You
No one gets banned for just mentioning a game, they get banned when they start spamming on every topic or bring others non related threads off-topic all the time. If you would get banned for just mentiong it, then why isn't anyone here banned yet ? We are also merging them, to prevent countless spams of different threads about the same subject.

Paradox games are always politically focused, on how to run a country and have all the difficulties around it, TW is all about strategy in battles, beating your enemy with lesser numbers or pulling off a great tactic that just destroys your enemy on the battlefield. Both are great at what they do, you unfortunately can't have both in 1 game, it would split the focus and it's better to have 1 amazing focus than 2 very average ones.

Fair enough, but this is Paradox we are talking about so i say you CAN have them both.

It's like when *manufacturer* make a crazy supercar and the engine is a 100-Bhp fiat **well, those things are not our focus*.
But hey the car looks spectacular, so i guess ill just pay for it and forget that it has wooden rims and seats also.

So the reason i said NO thanks, that's disappointment :steammocking: i played the crusader kings and E-Universalis.. got bored after 2 hours.
And for those who think i'm a TW fanboy, I am not.. TW games in general have not enough depth besides moving armies from city to city.
The reason TW is popular is because of the COMBAT, there are (unit/overhaul) modders that have 15-25K subscribers.. that's insane.
But i just don't get why it's not **complete** and this is just a opinion of ONE random dude on steam, that's all.
Just like i bought Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2, and Endless Space 2.. also half baked games.

BFG:A2 had good combat.. but civ management was just horrible.
Endless Space 2 has good civ management (bad diplomacy), but the combat.. well not good at all.
So i won't throw 40-50-60 Euro on a game and say, well it is what it is.. i take what i can get.. no thanks.

That's because you like action, no one is going to say you are a TW fanboy if they do then call them an idiot. People have preferences and you just happen to be a person who loves the action that TW games have with their battles, but you also want to have a piece of that sweet sweet political cake that Paradox games give their players. But it's impossible to have both games in 1 game and have them both extremely good. No matter what people are going to try to tell you. Developers and all corporations on this planet will focus on 1 max 2 things that they are very good at. Games that try to be everything just are average at everything so what's the point ?

Your example of the car is extremely bad tho, because that company their focus is to make super cars so they will make sure that all parts in their car are of the highest quality, that way they are amazing at making supercars. You won't see them out of nowhere start making family cars though, maybe if you are lucky they will make a "budget" version of their supercar which means just lesser parts but overall the same design.
EU: Rome and because of that the "sequel" imperator rome has always been a mix of EU, CK and Victoria. It will play like a EU game, but it will major influences of CK and Victoria. Mainly on how characters work and pops. (+ some extra ideas added from what they learned over all these years making grand strategy games)

In topic Has anyone who purchased from GMG..
GMG only send the keys once they recieve them, which usually with paradox titles is on release day. Even if you buy it through Paradox themself, you usually get the key on release day. So there is no way at all for GMG to get them earlier.
Paradox games releases are usually iirc between 3 and 6 CET, usually it's tied to the platform updates which if i'm not wrong is 6pm for Steam.

Pre-orders have never been cheaper, so I don't see why it all of the sudden would be the case now. I don't remember a game double A and up to drop their prices just for pre-ordering. This isn't early access, there it makes sense to do it.

In topic 1 day early access beta
You are actively advocating for developers releasing the game "early" which we all know would be the actual release date and just delay it a couple days for others. Also if you actually knew paradox, they don't patch their games anymore from the moment their press build goes out. You know the release date, you pre-order it to play it on that date. There is literally no reason in this entire universe to release it a day earlier just because you feel like playing.

If you want to be fair, then all people will play on the same day and not get special treatment, that is being fair.

In topic That's why Chivalry is almost dead
Locked topic, if you want to discuss another game then feel free to discuss it on their forums.

All I can say is that the developers worked hard on their project, so they deserve respect and shouldn't be treated as just a chivalry 2.0 but their own game, with their own ideas and their own passion. So get some respect for them and stop putting them in the shadows of Chivalry. They are a talented bunch of people and deserve their own identity. Everyone is excited for more melee games on the market, because there aren't enough of them and we wish them all success.

In most PDX games DLC is NOT optional as they include important features that SHOULD have been in the base game. Example - AoW/EUIV had ability to assign provinces to vassals. MtG/HOI4 had ability to re-route convoys and add ASW to destroyers.

You don't have the authority to determine which things should have been part of the main game. Entitlement mate, please stop it.

Just stop responding to him, he just looks for attention. Let this topic die, everytime he has no clue what to say anymore, he will just ignore it and go to the next person to bait.

If you want to talk about the 1st amendment which your "freedom of speech" argument comes from. It protect you from your government not making laws on infringing your freedom of speech (which still gets countered by many anti discrimination laws). Any corporation, website, game or anything in between can set their own rules.
Fair enough. I won't argue the legality of it, I was wrong. From a moral standpoint, I still feel it's wrong to censor people, but that's neither here nor there.

It isn't censoring people when all they do is spam racial slurs to get attention. There is a big difference between actually actively censoring someone because of their opinions and banning someone because they need attention and do it the worst way possible. I'm sure you will understand the difference between the 2.

Also we usually only use mute for people that spam racial slurs, that way they can still play the game without any issues. Everyone also has the right and chance to appeal their case and we work with temp mutes and bans. If you recieve a permanent ban, that means you did something serious wrong. As in having multiple bans on your name, cheating, etc.

I was talking purely on the United States. But by who's laws is this game adhering to then? Because either way you're bound to trip a cord somewhere. If you ban all racists, your going against freedom of speech and censoring people. If you don't, I'm sure you're setting off one of the many EU laws. This all seems very contradictory. Is it just a matter of what law is easier to skip over then?

It's a pretty easy line to draw. Don't be a racist. It's really not tough at all. The mods have already made it clear that it's a bannable offense, and rightfully so. This is not some huge moral concern. Go be racist where people think it's funny if you want. If you try to do it everywhere then you're going to face push back.
It very obviously isn't an easy line to draw just from the Overwatch comparison I made earlier. These companies hear this very vocal minority of people who get their pants in a twist over idiots on the internet and all of the sudden I'm not allowed to spam voice lines or I'm under threat of getting banned. While I don't personally spam racist jokes or slurs in chat for fun, I don't like the feeling that some nameless faceless company is deciding for me what I can and can't say while play a video game I payed for.

I don't think anybody is seriously defending racism or racists. It's the point about wanting to be able to do what they want and not have some looming ban offense over their heads because sensitive people on the internet like to freak out over petty stuff. I would understand if this was a conversation about death threats, (which I would be in full support for getting people banned over), but when it's over things like this I just can't get behind it.

And contrary to what Nikita says, there aren't laws against being a racist. There are laws against hate crimes and discrimination in the job setting, but not for saying questionable things in an online setting.

If I was you, I would first read stuff like the CoCEN, communication act of 2003 and other anti discrimination laws.

You know people have been arrested/charged in real life, for stuff they said online...
But nothing of that matters, if you are are spamming racial slurs online, in most games/sites it will get you in trouble.

It's simple any racism will get you in trouble, doesn't matter if it's this game, another game, another company or even under law. Anti racism rules and laws exist for a reason. If you see people spamming racial slurs in a server, you can contact us and we will investigate it and take action if needed.

Usually happens a year or a bit longer after launch, which means there wouldn't even be $ 100 of DLC. Why do people keep saying DLC DLC DLC DLC DLC, while they are completely fine of a triple A costing 140 or more on launch lol. base game, season pass (which doesn't give you all the DLC), couple days earlier access, ton of DLCs stripped from the game sold as day 1 dlc and then have to deal with microtransactions too, to then get milked for a year or 2, then get a sequel and the cycle starts again, that's all fine, but paradox releasing 2/3 DLCs a year oh no that's horrible.

Opinions are opinions, but a ton of people disagree. IMO, Stellaris has always been a great game. It's just that mods and updates have made it even better. There's a difference between saying "I went out in the cold without a coat and now I have one," and "I went out in the cold with a suede coat and now I have a fur one."

The point is just fix the game I paid for. If they want to build an entirely different game that's fine but first fix what I paid for. I get tired of all these complete changes in how their games work with no notice or reason or ryme.

1 making the changes actually fixed a lot of issues they were having with the game, unlocking a lot of systems to work with, 2 It wasn't an "entireliy" different game. It was overhauling systems to make them work better, 3 You paid for a game and they did what was needed to fix it, it's not their fault that people hate change and 4 They told the reasons, they made plenty of dev blogs, streams and vids about it months before the updates even went live.

But what you are saying is: "Just make a sequel, instead of releasing it for free". But ey like I said is not their fault that people hate change, it's not their fault that you act like they don't communicate, it's not their fault that you refuse to follow a game you paid for and it's not their fault that you then try to act smart, but at the same time show how little you actually know.

Which honestly makes me start to question your actual expierence with any of their games.
Mainly because each time you bring something up, it's something that is false, something they actually do or complainig they overhaul an entire game for free but at the same time complain they have DLCs. Which one do you want ? Them overhauling a game to make it work better completely for free or do you want to pay for it by releasing a sequel? You can't have both.
