For a decade or more I'm now trying to find a type of game.

A turn based game where you build something, (almost) anything, and no fighting/moving units around. And it should be interesting, not just mindless pushing of the same buttons. Some strategy and thinking what to put where, when.

No, not Real Time with pause button, Turn Based. I mean it.

Imagine Theme Park, Sim City (or Sim Tower), or Startopia in Turn Based.

Or imagine Civilization without any settlers and army units (and only one city you build up at a time).

Or even a freaking farm.

Just something where I plonk down stuff, hit end of turn, and get a result, maybe hit end turn again a few rounds to get cash, plonk down next thing that has an effect,...

Without random events destroying what I built. On the other hand, some random stuff is fine.

I don't want: Meteors smashing into my party lounge, or giant spiders kicking over my sky scrapers, or locusts eating up the entire harvest.

I do want: Emergency distress call asking for help/docking permission, or a brawl in a pub threatens to turn into a riot, or a goose laid a square egg/new plant turned up (and you don't know if it's weed or herb). All of that with choices of whether and how to respond, with a good chance for a bonus if tended successfully. And they will turn up again even if you reload a previous save, and result in the same outcome as long as you do the same things. (Eador.Genesis does random events very nicely.)

A few couple more points, graphics and interface.

I prefer simple graphics, don't need high-res animations that just let me wait anyway. Something smooth, not zoomed in too close, clear tiles and easy to recognize objects to build. Perhaps cartoonish (but under no circumstances those abominable, repelling anime figures).

Terraria graphics are great. Nethack tiles are great. Warlock - Master of the Arcane buildings are nice to look at from up close but far too hard to tell apart from a decent viewpoint (thus I'd rather not have something like that).

I want an easy to manage interface. No being buried in charts and lines of statistics. Warlock - Master of the Arcane notifications are great, Civ 4 amount of icons are overwhelming, and resources and units on the map are too hard to find for me to play for long.

And I repeat, Turn Based (people tend to not get that bit). I do not want to watch the game play itself, that's utterly boring for me. (I don't even want to watch animations of a building being put up or similar, they waste my time.) And I don't want to have to react fast. Which is not possible when I have to hover a finger over the pause button all the time just in case.

If I feel like doing that, I play the ones I have already. New ones are just the same in green and not what I want. I stick to what I know, thanks.

The no fighting part is also important. I get utterly bored pushing units around a map, too. And I don't care for fighting. (The above named TBS all have the flaw of fighting, pushing units around. Something like that with just building up a place, using charm/money/spells to acquire more space would be great.)
