Different music tastes clashing in comments on one screenshot had me assemble these as examples of stuff I like (in most cases it's the sound I like, though with these I don't mind the lyrics - except with the German ones it's the lyrics that make it interesting, and/or because it's from way back when I was a teenager):

Pirates of the Caribbean 3 was on TV last night, made me look for this:
(Though the scene they sing it probably adds to the whole goose-pimple atmosphere.)

2Cellos - Thunderstruck

Hurts - Mother Nature

Imagine Dragons - Radioactive

Fever Ray - If I Had A Heart

Tubbe - Bad Hupferl

Corporation Of One - The Real Life

Kai Tracid - Too many Times (Moebius Hard Trance Remix)
(Can no longer find it on youtube.)

Groove Cutter - My Shooter

Nalin Inc. - Planet Violet (Radio Edit)

Röyksopp ft. Robyn - The Girl and the Robot

Resistance D. - Dark Side

Peter Fox - Alles Neu

Peter Fox - Schwarz zu Blau

Joachim Witt - Goldener Reiter

Peter Schilling - Major Tom (Völlig Losgelöst)

Enya - Boadicea

Depeche Mode - Waiting for the Night

(And a lot more by Depeche Mode. Also a lot more Trance/Rave, and more 80s stuff. Some Metal that didn't make it the list because no titles come to mind and no youtube links saved.)
Multiple exclamation marks are a sure sign of an insane mind!!!!

The game I want DOES exist. Farlanders!

For a decade or more I'm now trying to find a type of game.

A turn based game where you build something, (almost) anything, and no fighting/moving units around. And it should be interesting, not just mindless pushing of the same buttons. Some strategy and thinking what to put where, when.

No, not Real Time with pause button, Turn Based. I mean it.

Imagine Theme Park, Sim City (or Sim Tower), or Startopia in Turn Based.

Or imagine Civilization without any settlers and army units (and only one city you build up at a time).

Or even a freaking farm.

Just something where I plonk down stuff, hit end of turn, and get a result, maybe hit end turn again a few rounds to get cash, plonk down next thing that has an effect,...

Without random events destroying what I built. On the other hand, some random stuff is fine.

I don't want: Meteors smashing into my party lounge, or giant spiders kicking over my sky scrapers, or locusts eating up the entire harvest.

I do want: Emergency distress call asking for help/docking permission, or a brawl in a pub threatens to turn into a riot, or a goose laid a square egg/new plant turned up (and you don't know if it's weed or herb). All of that with choices of whether and how to respond, with a good chance for a bonus if tended successfully. And they will turn up again even if you reload a previous save, and result in the same outcome as long as you do the same things. (Eador.Genesis does random events very nicely.)

A few couple more points, graphics and interface.

I prefer simple graphics, don't need high-res animations that just let me wait anyway. Something smooth, not zoomed in too close, clear tiles and easy to recognize objects to build. Perhaps cartoonish (but under no circumstances those abominable, repelling anime figures).

Terraria graphics are great. Nethack tiles are great. Warlock - Master of the Arcane buildings are nice to look at from up close but far too hard to tell apart from a decent viewpoint (thus I'd rather not have something like that).

I want an easy to manage interface. No being buried in charts and lines of statistics. Warlock - Master of the Arcane notifications are great, Civ 4 amount of icons are overwhelming, and resources and units on the map are too hard to find for me to play for long.

And I repeat, Turn Based (people tend to not get that bit). I do not want to watch the game play itself, that's utterly boring for me. (I don't even want to watch animations of a building being put up or similar, they waste my time.) And I don't want to have to react fast. Which is not possible when I have to hover a finger over the pause button all the time just in case.

If I feel like doing that, I play the ones I have already. New ones are just the same in green and not what I want. I stick to what I know, thanks.

The no fighting part is also important. I get utterly bored pushing units around a map, too. And I don't care for fighting. (The above named TBS all have the flaw of fighting, pushing units around. Something like that with just building up a place, using charm/money/spells to acquire more space would be great.)

So if you know anything that fits, send me a message.

(Btw, a comment on any public screenshot will do for sending me a message. For example: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=184441589 )

Thank you. :)

Definitely recommended!

It's fun, it's cute, it joggs the brain. Whether you're super brain or fuzzy old me, it's playable by everyone who can spell English words.

You play as Grimm, a little reaper who is on a quest to get pizza. You venture through various locations where you have to beat up monsters by spelling words from 15 available random letters.

Along the way, you free shopkeepers who sell you stuff for the gems you earn; upgrades, special abilities, books, potions, weapons. There's even two more characters to unlock that you can play with, with different stats (but all upgrades, special abilities, and stuff transfer)

The monsters vary too, some have special conditions to take damage at all, or to take double, or even quadruple damage. Some throw stuff at your letters that makes them dangerous, unavailable, or adding no points to a word. Sometimes some letters aren't available, sometimes you're limited in the amount of words or letters you may use. and more. Always something new and different!

At every stage (location) you have a plain normal level, one with limited time, one with varied special conditions, and one extra tough one. If I'm not mistaken, there are 40 stages. Plus of course the new endless mode (haven't tried that yet).

And for those like me who don't like timers, just pause the game by clicking help (better than making a screenshot and pausing the game). I like it a lot that the game does not force the timed rounds at all cost.

Also, I got this for free because I own the previous version. That's a very neat move by the developer. He's also very responsive and friendly.

With the new engine opening new developement options, I still hope he'll add a free play mode/level with picked/random monsters, after the final boss has been beaten.

But in any case, as it is it's a fun, charming game. Even losing a level makes me smile with the cute animation of little Grimm lying there with x'ed eyes. Or the Dust bunny whacking me over the head with the duster.

Achievements ruined too many games for me, and when it got out-right frustrating I thought, screw them. All they do is distract from what I find fun in a game. I'm not wasting any more time for absolutely nothing in return.

Oeh, jetzt werd' ich rot. :)
