This is my first time playing it, as far as Aspyr recent ports, this is definitely as close to flawless as it seems for them.

The only flaws I've seen so far are as follows... otherwise the Jango controls feel great, the game looks very good and it's an easy recommend at $20.

Controls: I started playing on controller but the controls were horrendous, the game doesn't let you look vertically without immediately rubberbanding your screen back to head level after letting go of the sticks, there doesn't seem to be an option to disable this (as far as UI goes, I'm sure you can poke around in the .ini's and find a flag to disable). The game plays very well with Mouse and Keyboard and doesnt have the rubberbanding issue above, so dont be put-off from the menus that tell you otherwise.

Controls/Game Design: You cant set a hotkey to switch from Jangos scanner to his weapon, theres already a hotkey to swap from his weapon to his scanner, but not back. This whole process makes the bounty hunting extra in the game a chore as it is way more attentive than passive, when walking around the maps this is fine, but when in firefights it is a dealbreaker. I understand that this is a design issue first and foremost with the game, but it sure would be alleviated if you were able to fluently swap back and forth from the weapon/scanner, which Aspyr is most definitely in a position to alleviate.

Level Design: Levels are kidna a mess all around, very easy to get lost but that's just kinda how it goes for an early 2000's era Star Wars game lol, the maps are very unique though!

You are literally given every weapon in the game off the start, you cant 'opt' out of that. Its the only version of the game you can buy on Steam.

Be aware of that when you buy, there is literally 0 progression for you to do.

Free to play games have less egregious or the same business model as these $70+ games. Insane.

This game legitimately excels at everything that made Payday 2 bad, and then managed to take steps backwards in all the places Payday 2 was just 'good' at.

To start, the games art, animation, and modeling is legit AAA quality. You can tell the Art and Animation squad at Overkill is top notch, and with the new engine everything that made Payday 2 feel dated, now feels modern. The way the weapons feel and handle are also top notch, very few games now make weapons feel as good as they do.

So whats bad? Well progression, character progression lacks any defining or noteworthy rewards like Payday 2's infamy system, and the weapon progression is completely useless. To get any meaningful attachments (Scopes and Silencers) on your weapons could take between 5 loud heists to 12. It looks like the game wanted to pull a MW 2019 gunsmith as for weapon progression, but lacks any of the actual meaningful weapon changes.

Skills are honestly meh, I think the game relies on actual player skill than skill trees. But the menu designs don't make it easier to understand.

Overall, I say let it cook. It'll get better, hopefully?

Sometimes I really think "Wow I miss playing XYZ game".

Not even the 800+ hours Ive spent on PC and Console have made me think about whether I miss this game, I dont. It honestly feels like Blizzard wanted this game to die. RIP. Was fun while it lasted.

I really was not expecting to like this game that much. It seems I hardly have the time to play through games anymore, but I just can't help myself with this one. This may be the most captivating game I've ever played, everytime I feel like the game is going to slow down, it almost immediately picks back up with new plot points. It has a great story and even better characters.

I also didn't see myself liking this game, I couldn't get into DOS2 but once I play through this I am hoping to give it a try again.

My only complaints are that some of the major areas and plot points in the game lock you into the specified area. Without spoiling the game or any lore, there's a point in time where you approach an area and start a series of fights. Once I started the fights I quickly realized I was getting slammed, I save reloaded and looked for alternative routes without cheesing it and I was SOL. I wasn't able to go to a different area in the world and do other side quests to level up more. Note I also wasn't under leveled, it was just a difficult area. It also seemed that others in the forum also had the same issue.

And this isn't the only area I felt locked in to as well, it was just the only one I struggled getting out of. Super dope game though! Just wanted to share my feedback

I haven't really seen any honest reviews of the game yet that mention the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ port job as of now. Apparently before launch the playtests of this game ran extremely well, so cool. But starting launch, a large amount of players with more than 60hz moniotrs would not have the #FPS of their #hz. The game locks itself to 30hz for any display that is not 59.94hz, now while thats not too bad, the aiming reticle and cockpit will be in what feels 30fps while the outside world is 60fps, this is extremely jarring and close to unplayable. Ontop of this there are many issues with the game in VR, Id look into some other reviews because I couldnt get myself to play more than a practice mode in it, that also has some refreshrate issues which made me quite ill. ONTOP of all of that joysticks are a pain to use since most of them are locked to have a 50% deadzone, so half of the joystick will just not function.

I played through the campaign and a lot of MP and have gotten used to both of these issues, but I would just straight up wait on getting it until both of these are fixed and when they are fixed Ill change the review to a recommend because it is a really good game. The MP modes are fun and EXTREMELY immersive, I love the MOBA-like mode Fleet Battle. Both sides have different classes of ships and their own unique features which are fun to figure out.

Boy where do I start. Ive been trying to complete this game for 6 years, the 6 years were on the PS3 where I would just ♥♥♥♥ around. I got it on Steam on sale a week ago, spent 22 hours and completed the base campaign and am excited to start The Liberty City Stories. But I really dont know if I can recommend this game.

This game is such horribly optimized and ported its a disaster. I am usually only around 45 fps driving around and in the city walking around its back at the capped 144. The controls of vehicles are such garbage on MnK, therefore I used taxis most of the game, cutting a 30 hour campaign into 22 hours. Multiple missions would straight up crash at a certain point, Id just have to keep brute forcing my way through them by replaying them and hoping that it wouldnt crash, and the last mission (for my playthrough) is uncompletable unless you use FRAPS to do something funky to cap your framerate for a QTE, or use a controller to spam Space Bar and the 'A' button on my controller. The last mission took 4 attempts for me to figure it out and it frankly ruined the expierence of the last mission. Im really hoping the DLC's dont have bugs like this but Ill have to see. I loved the story and atmosphere way more than GTA5, but Im done with accepting mediocrity with Rockstar. Their decisions need to be held accountable and especially here. They couldve taken more than enough time to flesh out the game's intrinsic issues but instead they updated the game to, remove multiplayer, and remove certain radio stations among other things. Come on now.

♥♥♥♥ man, I had fun with this DLC, and will still continue to play it. But it's clear they have no intention of polishing whats already in the game. Breach is a fantastic mode which all players get for free, and the characters can be earned easily in game, especially a year after their release.

So, the selling point of the DLC? Arcade Mode.

I love this mode. I love the weeklies, the guarenteed effect drop and what not. But the mode is so... unbalanced. Incase you dont know, you can always play this with a friend, no matter whether they have the DLC or not, they will be able to use any drops they get playing the mode. Now, onto my point. The gamemode has NO, I MEAN NONE, mechanics (such as scaling) to make it easier for you playing solo, or make it harder playing in Co-Op, what you play in solo, is exactly the same as in Co-Op, what does this mean? If you have to 1v2 in Solo, you are now 2v2ing in Co-Op. There are no mechanics to balance it out for how many players you have, this makes your normal Arcade Quests fine, they are almost always do able solo, but the weeklies, jesus. Due to the amount of enemies or difficulty not scaling based on players, weeklies are almost impossible to solo, and difficult in Co-Op (the good kind of difficult tho).

Why though? It seems like the dev's have alot of issues balancing the game and Arcade mode is more Archaic instead of an Arcade. They leave this game mode in the dust sadly. And it sucks, it's good fun in Co-Op, but I dont always have people to play alongside and it sucks and is infuriating when you get to a part that clearly was meant for the top tier of players or Co-Op, and you cant solo it. And ontop of that, the AI sucks. They act nothing like normal players, and often glitch out, or just mirror.

I'd love to recommend this DLC, but I cant until they improve whats already there.
