If you can look past the blatantly racist players, the game plays well.

GO HOME GI, PROTECC TA WICE!

No Man's Sky had a horrible launch, promised too much and didn't produce good results.

But, given time to recuperate, they rebuilt the game, essentially -- and now the game is fun, has meaning, and runs pretty well. If you tried the game and were unhappy, like myself, go into the game with an open mind and give it a second chance.

It genuinely feels like a new game, with even more potential now.

Better than PUBG and it's a parody of it.

Played 1,500 hours so here's my take:

Rocket League as with any competitive game is not for everyone, but there is room for all.

Gameplay is great, as with any game that is competitive or ranked comes with the usual pains. You will find toxic players and you will meet good people. The learning curve is steep at first but once you hit that certain point you start to really get a feel for the game and how your car and the ball move. Once you hit that point the game becomes a bit more enjoyable. Don't be discouraged if the game is hard at first, you have to learn to walk before you run.

Training packs and casual playlists are your friend when you're starting out but don't be intimidated by competitive playlists as they will place you at people your skill level.

I've noticed a number of negative reviews directed at the Epic Games purchase, or at the new blueprint and credit system. I personally find all the review bombing somewhat ironic, given that people were spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on opening crates with RNG and getting mostly crap items. They implemented a system similar to Fortnite where you can purchase specific items or reveal blueprinted items and open them for a specific amount of credits -- the prices were generally agreed by the community that they were too high and Psyonix lowered them in response. Even so, people are claiming it is a cash grab when the cosmetic items are the only thing you can buy. There is no pay to win in this game.

Stop complaining about paying for cosmetic items. I'll remind most people they purchased the game for $19.99, this isn't some AAA $60 Call of Duty. Perspective is important.

Try the game, you'll like it.
