How are none of my friends talking about this game?
Every year if I am lucky I come across a game so good I wish I could go back in time just to play it for the first time again - and that game always becomes by Game of The Year. That game for me this year is Everhood. And I knew that within 30 minutes of playing the game. I'm nominating the game for Best Soundtrack -- cause the OST is amazing and I feel it has a better chance of winning a nomination in that category but it was hard not to vote it as GOTY just from my personal experience with the game.

This game absolutely blows my mind. And not enough people are talking about it -- none of my friends anyway. I've been posting about the game non-stop on social media, recommending it to all my friends, forcing my boyfriend to play it, so I have someone to talk to about it, and listening to the OST like crazy. I've been thinking about my NG+ playthrough and all the things I wanna do and try. I might even be crazy enough to try some no-hit achievements... That's just how much I love this game and want to play it more. (Update: I actually got a BUNCH of no hits! It's not as hard as I thought it would be!)

I see some unfair comparisons to Undertale. People saying it's a rip-off / clone and stuff like that. This is completely unfounded. You can check my profile, Undertale is my favourite game ever. The only comparisons I could really make between Everhood and Undertale are the humour can be similar, they both have phenomenal sound tracks, they're pixel art games, maybe some plot points are similar (but done completely differently), and they're indie gems. But the gameplay, story, and just everything else are completely different. Everhood is its own game and it's a treasure. Plus why is having something similar to Undertale an issue? Inspired by? Yeah quite probably. But a clone/rip-off? Not even close.

I bought the game on sale but it's absolutely worth it even at full price. Honestly I would have paid more for the game if I knew I'd like it that much. I've been jamming to the OST on Spotify but I'll probably also buy the OST just to show more support. Oh, and if you're planning on playing the game or currently playing but haven't finished I would recommend avoiding looking at the OST -- you can gleam enough insights from the track titles to potentially spoil some fun stuff for yourself.

Don't like music / rhythm games? You can still definitely play this. Personally I'm subpar at them but I do like them. There's a Story Mode difficulty for those who just wanna get through the game and I'm sure it's easy enough to play through even if you aren't very good at rhythm games. And if you're still unsure then go on and watch a lets play, if you like what you see at least show some support by buying the OST after.

The gameplay is awesome and does not get stale. New mechanics are added with every major boss and it's not always a music battle you're doing either. There are fun little mini games scattered throughout. And once again -- this game is worth playing just for the OST alone. Every track is a banger. EVERY SINGLE ONE.

There's a playlist of boss battle themes on Spotify and it has become my gym playlist. To be honest this morning I've been listening to one song on repeat. Revenge from the Frog's Wrath battle. I am obsessed with this song. It makes me want to punch god in the face (in the RPG fashion). It's such a powerful song, I feel so much emotion and desperation in it.

I'll probably update this again later. I'm all hyped up and just wanted to gush about this game, there's probably something I am forgetting to say.

TL;DR This game is incredible, please play it.
I want the world to experience this game. I have been telling ALL of my friends about it. This game is beautiful.
