Even though the trailer looked a bit blant I thought to myself "Why not" and gave this game a fair shot. The game style is similar to Hollow Knight but here stops the comparison. With boring level design, a lot of enemy spam and a battle system which encourage face-tanking there isnt much to see in this game. I really like the art style but after the third boss and the poor level design I gave up and refunded the game. It feels like the game isn't even halfway finished. The developers should have polished the game more.

I must click "Yes" in is this review helpful for one reason. You aren't mindless hater that says "THIS IS JUST COPY OF HOLLOW KNIGHT". Your opinion actually points out what's wrong with the game (and I actually agree), when acknowledging that Gleamlight is not a clone of Hollow Knight in any way, except having similar style.

MadHamster, even without the comparison to Hollow Knight, it's a bad game, also what flowspinners said, if we didn't compare games, then we would still be in the nes-era gameplay-wise... maybe even graphics-wise.......

It's a fair comparison and is a good thing.
Hollow Knight sets a good base for incredible game mechanics, music, and atmosphere.
If this game had all of the above with a unique story and some unique game mechanics then it would be amongst the greats.

Hollow Knight simply set the standard for a great Metroidvania Platformer game making it a perfect comparison for new games in that genre.



I find it funny how you hate the comparison yet you will compare the Hollow Knight community to the Dark Souls community (which most find annoying).

Try and avoid contradicting yourself and being the very thing you're against.

Bruh, this is a generic SNES 2D platformer just an Okayish-one. Stop comparing every fekking thing to HK. Your lot is as fekking annoying as Just Like Dark Souls cancer.

I think this is the game that had a demo about 6 months ago, it was a limited time demo if memory is correct. It was not a good game then.

I should have seen this before buying the game for Switch! This game is a total rip off and I cannot get refund there. Well, a lesson learnt.
