Introduction

Who Pressed Mute on Uncle Marcus is a hilarious, exceptionally well-done FMV game. To start, you (Abby) get invited to an annual "birthday" quiz that your mother gets the whole family together for, that no one clearly wants to attend. Throughout this quiz, you must ask members of your family who poisoned Uncle Marcus, so that you can attempt to save him. This story sometimes had me on the edge of my seat and panicking whenever I had to make a choice that felt so detrimental to the character's life. This game took me about 1.5 hours to complete but I intend of playing through it multiple times for the achievements and to unlock all of the dialogue with all the characters!

My Opinion

This was my first ever FMV and Wales Interactive game, so take this with a grain of salt. I enjoyed this game being that it was my first experience with this style of game. The acting was exceptional and the dialogue was kind of hilarious at times too. I found it kind of difficult to find evidence on my first playthrough as I was a little confused, which was my own fault. But after one playthrough, I understood a lot more. I am glad that this game has replayability and it also keeps the evidence that you've found on previous playthroughs. That way you don't have to start from the beginning again, which can get kind of annoying. They also have the ability to skip through scenes that you've watched before but I found this to be a bit buggy because sometimes it would work and other times it wouldn't-- even on scenes that I'm 100% sure I had watched on a previous playthrough. I don't know if that was just me who just experienced this? But all in all, this was a pretty good game for my first FMV game. I'll definitely be playing more games by Wales Interactive! Wonderful experience, highly recommend for the exceptional acting and for the experience (there's achievements too, if you're an achievement hunter like me!). Rating: 8/10

Every Wales Interactive game works differently, and they're all absolutely enjoyable experiences. They span many genres too. I do prefer the more horror based ones.
