Despite it's repetitive nature, I can't put my finger on it exactly but I keep coming back to this game. Of course it's not without it's problems but it's still pretty fun. Save often (F8 is your friend) and enjoy the ride.

Ship strength isn't always most important in battles. It's what upgrades you have, what special skills you use and when you implement them. (I was finally able to beat some convoys which had a higher strength because of some well placed shots and boarding skills.)

Despite some bugs and the lack of updates, overall this is a great game (beautiful environment, pleasant music, ships, ship upgrading, hideouts, optional quests, and surprisingly deep turn-based combat.)

I recommend this game but realize it's not for everyone and it does come with a learning curve and takes a bit of time to learn (especially for combat). Level up your ship and get some hull upgrades. It helps a lot.

Mostly played the online downloadable version. Palia is a good game with beautiful visuals and many many quests and places to explore.
However, it's the cosmetic store that leaves a sour taste in my mouth. The Cosmetic Online store is where you can pay real money for Palia coins to buy outfits and glider skins etc. Prices go all the way up to $99 USD. Obviously this development model benefits the game companies mostly so they use it but I'd prefer to pay a flat rate for a game and get the whole game but then again maybe I wouldn't be playing this one since it's free to play.

I recommend trying this game but beware of the micro-transaction (and not-so micro) money trap that is included.

Being American born, I found driving the roads of Europe and the UK in my Euro truck has given me a brand new fondness of my friends in Europe and the UK. This simulator makes me want to visit IRL. Highly recommended.

While it's not at its peak performance yet, I do like the current look and gameplay of this newer vanilla version of Cities: Skylines.

EYE CANDY
For starters, the vanilla buildings, roads, bridges and cities in general look more realistic (than they did in CS1) at least if your looking for the more American style.
In the US we do not have bright multicolored sky rises nor vehicles that look like donuts driving around 100mph (looking at you CS1)
The addition of seasons, dogs, dog parks and roundabouts are nice to have in the basegame as well.
The skybox has seen vast improvement too. It actually looks like daytime now.

PERFORMANCE
I don't have the latest computer specs (gtx1070ti, i7-8700k ) yet the game runs around 30fps with a population of 8-10k on high graphical settings. This is not to say you should get the game. If you want more than 60fps, then you will need to lower the graphical settings significantly or get a new computer.

CAUTIOUS RECOMMEND
Because the game is still in development I do cautiously recommend this game.
In it's current state I give CS2 7 out of 10 stars as there is enjoyment to be had and more updates to look forward to.

Recommended but note that Gal Civ 4 is better in every way. In addition to a shiny upgraded UI, Gal Civ 4 is a more immersive game experience with better mechanics overall.

Interesting to note you will find many negative reviewers have comments turned off.

Played Galactic Civilizations 3 and don't see myself going back to it especially after playing this shiny new and improved version of Gal Civ.

I much prefer the planetary upgrading system better than Gal Civ 3. Gal Civ 4 feels like its own game and the new look is fantastic.

The galaxy and sector view as a whole feels more immersive.

Gal Civ 4 has engaging leader recruitment mechanics with the new card system.

The Bazaar is great for cashing in on those extra resources. You can buy and sell resources as needed. Generating lots of Elirium? Sell it and make bank.

Managing and identifying fleets is easier and much improved in Gal Civ 4. Hold shift to select multiple ships and fleets to move together.

Research is more accessible yet has been expanded.

Lots of little upgrades including the skin overhaul that make Galactic Civilizations 4 the better game IMHO.

Like the fact you can build a bathroom without walls in the middle of the airport terminal and it works.

SUMMARY
Airport CEO is highly recommended especially if you are willing to put time into learning its complex systems (including troubleshooting errors). It is a rewarding and visually appealing builder/manager. The manager sections add more details and settings to remember to check while building an airport.

COMPARING Airport CEO with SimAirport.
Airport CEO has many more layers of complexity than SA. As a novice to airport constructing, beginning with SimAirport has proven to be a helpful way to get started in Airport CEO.
Unlike SimAirport, Airport CEO is more than a basic airport builder and features many more realistic looking animations of both the people doing their jobs to the airport operations.

BUSINESS MANAGER
The game also involves hiring staff, signing contracts and running a business. At first I thought this was going to be a distraction to constructing an airport but it has proven to be one of the games greatest strengths and reasons to buy.

BUGS OR USER ERROR?
Sometimes things don't work as you think they should and you're not sure if it's a bug or user error. For example, I place down 8-10 General Aviation stands and connect them together and to the runway.
However, all but one stand reports it is functional. This has happened on more than occasion. Restarting the computer will remedy this situation and possibly others like it.

PATH FINDING AND ZONING
At other times passengers and employees might report not being able to get across zones or to a particular area. I found that making sure there are doors in the walls before zoning can fix the zone issue. Placing sidewalks for people to walk on also helps. The game also features an in-game pathfinding and troubleshooting tool which prove to be highly useful.

GRAPHICS AND ANIMATIONS
There are many detailed animations and the graphics are of wonderful quality.

RECOMMENDED ON SALE
In general this game involves a lot of trial and error and attention to detail. Following the tutorial can be highly useful at first. Overall I highly recommend Airport CEO and it's DLC on sale.

While this game has fun aspects, I barely recommend it due to it's simplicity, somewhat cartoonist nature and poor animations. (Watching planes slide around when turning on the tarmac and luggage jump across the baggage hub are visual turn-offs for me). In addition, some UI sounds when opening menus were also aggravating (I didn't see a way to disable them without turning off all sounds). The Control tower voices when planes land and take-off was a nice touch.

Albeit more complex to get into and at times more buggy than should be allowed for a full release, I found Airport CEO to be more engaging, more fun (with better overall visuals and detail) and the preferred recommendation over this SimAirport.

However, if you are seeking a simple, less realistic experience or are unfamiliar with this type of sim, I would think SimAirport could be useful as an introduction to Airport CEO.
(If you find you enjoy SimAirport but are wanting more....then Airport CEO would be a logical next big step up.)

Recommended on sale.

If you like reading a lot and squinting at the small text, you may like this. It's free though so what do you have to lose? Just wasn't for me.

Anmeldelse for emne med tidlig adgang
Simple brilliance wrapped up in a Civilization style strategy game. And there are shortcut keyboard keys if you don't want to always use the mouse to click.
