I love kung fu, snackable roguelikes, and a good story. Forestrike hits all of those notes and more. With a demo available and a $10 (?!) pricetag, this bite sized masterwork from a small team of four is such an easy sell.
The humor is great, the fights are fun and well balanced, the kung fu styles and moves seem countless, and all of this blends with runs that are quick and repeatable.

+ A combat puzzle game that doesn't make you feel like an idiot. Even the toughest scenarios have multiple solutions
+ A surprising amount of humor, especially from 2 of the kung fu masters/styles in particular
+ Soundtrack slaps
+ Runs don't wear out their welcome by being so incredibly intense or lengthy
+ Very well balanced level of challenge, with special kinds of runs being available later in the game to add additional difficulty with a narrative twist
+ Shareable codes for fights let you see if your friends/the discord community can solve them differently

- The fifth master you unlock doesn't have too much viable build diversity to their style at all. As of this writing, the developers are taking community feedback and working on it
- A practice dummy or test arena would be helpful
- A "restart run" button would be great, though you can pause an abandon a run after a fight is finished
- $10 at launch? C'mon, devs! You're worth more than that

I can't put this game down

I've been jonesing for a good immersive sim, having gone back to Prey for a bit. Skin Deep is just what I was looking for.

It's funny, well written, and rewards experimentation. Sure, sometimes you can just come to rely on the same solution to take out guards and clear each ship, but there are wrinkles added in often enough with the different ship layouts and quirks to keep the gameplay fresh.
