I've been playing Battlefield since the original, 1942, in 2002. Over 20 years of non-stop playing this franchise. I've played and loved every game in each of their own ways. Chose Battlefield Vietnam over my high school girlfriend. Bought an Xbox 360 to play JUST Bad Company 1 & 1943. Upgraded my PC countless times to experience all of Battlefield in its glory. And recently struggled with all the trash talking about BFV. I absolutely adore this franchise.

Yes, I will admit DICE (and EA) has had their ups and downs with the franchise over the years but in the end, I've always held Battlefield as my number 1 multiplayer experience. And 2042 is absolutely no different. Sure, I am not a huge fan of the "faced" non-class specialists. I don't feel like increasing the player count to 128 and removing alot of the destruction was a smart idea. But at the end of the day, it is still Battlefield. Soldiers fighting Tanks. Helicopters blowing Jeeps up. Jet fighters whizzing across the air. It is still unbelievable EPIC. No franchise can compete in my eyes.

And thankfully, in the last year, DICE has made MASSIVE improvements to the game. The game feels and plays great! The latest 3 maps (now 5) are truly excellent (including the reworks), classes are coming back to an extent (came back!), a load of weapons & vehicles are available now, and it has been greatly optimize. I am very impressed. It does suck it had to START this way but right now, with Season 3 (now 5), the game is closer to being a true Battlefield 4 sequel then ever before. I have no doubt if you happen to pick up the game now (or play it on Game Pass) you’ll have an absolute blast.

Welcome home Battlefield. It is good to have you back! See you on the ‘field! Still going strong many years later!
