Since the latest update I've had multiple CTDs before the bombs even drop
The real content added with this update is so many bugs and crashes that never existed before. Never existed in version 1.0

Two DRMs, horrendous CPU optimisation and agh there's a good game underneath it.
If you didn't jump on this for launch day, wait it out.

Edit: now that I'm 30+ hours in I can add to my recommendation against buying this: The enemy variety is way less than Dragon's Dogma 1, and the lack of skills available at any given time really detracts from experience.

Wait this one out a long, long time.

Edit 2: Performance still not fixed

The gameplay loop is fantastic, the game is buggy but the bugs aren't gamebreaking - and the gameplay is so good you'll look right past them.
The community... The community freakin' unionised, man. The community is the icing on the satirical cake that turns this into GOTY 2024
Some community managers need to be maybe taken away from the position though, they aren't qualified for managing such large groups of people and end up adding fuel to the fires.

Sometimes you gotta get in a muddy boghole and shatter your sump.
This way you can do it without your bank manager phoning and screaming at you.

3D Realms has waited FOREVER to do what they've done in this.

Dead game, nobody on multiplayer. Had a known issue wherein the menu locks up a solid 10 seconds every time you try to move the cursor. It's a known issue on consoles too. Hasn't been fixed. Won't be fixed. Alt-F4 will make steam still see it as running and it'll tick away past your refund window.
