This game is somewhat special, the 1980s style and the post apocalyptic with robots just changes the atmosphere. But one noticeable thing is that the game was made by a kind of small dev-studio. Which have both positive and negative sides. But lets get to the point of what is good and what is bad.

The goodies with the game
  • -Very good graphics.
  • -Sound is very good, many guns with different sound and not to mention robot sounds
(especially bigger robots = louder footsteps).
  • -Story + Co-op.
  • -Almost every house is lootable.
  • -Big map (playable area).
  • -A lot of side missions..
  • -Robots, different types and difficulty. Can be from a small little spider that explodes to a
big tank, that fires rockets and spread a toxic gas in its proximity.
  • -Has many swedish references, as im a swedish person, it makes the game a bit more
    interesting.

Now the bad stuff
  • -There are some texture bugs in different locations, mostly in some bunkers. (Not just the
host sees it other clients see the same in co-op).
  • -The whole map (terraforming) was made by two people if im right, and you can notice it
    in some places.
  • -Many floating objects, like decorative bunkers, cars, trucks. Some building are opposite
and have been placed to far down in the ground.
  • -Some storys may be confusing what to do, just check "log" where you find all your
    missions.
  • -Inventory Management is not the best.
  • -Safe houses should be saved for all team members, not only for the host.
  • -You cant swim in water, like why?
  • -Not that many bug fixes have been released, i hope they are at least preparing a
    reasonable "big" bugfix.
  • -Co-op needs to be optimized, as you sometimes may see players "spinbot", and some
crashes have happened or unable to join game. (Requires game restart)
  • -Controls sometimes bug out when starting game. Changing to gamepad from keyboard
    & mouse.
    Edit:
  • -I finished the game, wont spoil story. But to be honest the end game was kinda "meh". It
could been better, you got to know what really happened. But really not anything else,
me and my friend delayed the mission (prepared for maybe a boss or so)...To be honest i
still dont know if that was the end game, got achievement Rise Of The Phoenix but
pretty much all. Just gonna mention 0.4% of all players have completed the game(PC
only, 2019-04-07). So for those who wanna know if its worth a buy maybe should wait a
    bit..

Now for a quick conclusion. The game has it moments, i would like to say its a bit unstable but isnt the right word. It more less need to be optimized, a lot of bug fixes and "fine tuned".
But for someone who is swedish there are a lot of fun references, and awesome music. Now i hope the devs listen to what the community has to say.

I wont say if i liked it or disliked it, cause that is up to every individual to decide. But for someone like me that found this game very amusing, at least the 20 hours i played. It was worth its price at 34.99€ (as a pre-purchase price).
But one thing its funnier and easier to play with friends or randoms(max 4 per lobby you+3 other players).

Its not fun to stumble upon 5 hunters alone. Quote from me...
(take the review with a "grain of salt")

Edit: Changed some lines where i mentioned early dev. As Alex72 commented on the review. Removed it so i wont confuse anyone, "didnt mean early access"

TheHunter: Call of The wild.

This is a really fun Hunting game. I played this with my friend for 3 hours straight we both love this game.

Under The time we played did we find some problems. But the best thing we found was taking a ATV and driving around and explore the world with a great landscape. We took some nice photos of the game.
I found myself relaxed in this game and always smiled when i played the game. The graphics are fantastic and tricked me really. It felt like i didnt play a game it felt like it was in real life.

I would recomend this game for most people that love simulator games and hunting of course
