My CS:GO Story (Possibly interesting for all lower ranked players coming to my profile):
Well, I don't really know where to start. I bought the CS complete pack back in December 2013 at the christmas sale, so I'm playing CS currently (March 2016) for more than 2 years.
I've started by playing casual and more casual. Some months later, a friend took me into competetive and if you trust me or not: I started at Silver 4.
I even deranked once to S3. I was stuck in silver hell until the first months of 2015.
We made a little "group" of 3 players, played every day and trained as much as we could.
I ranked up from Silver 4 to Nova 3 in like a month. Some days later to Nova Master. It took only some more days to enter Master Guardian and about another month to get to MGE.
DMG was not far away anymore and I also got there. I did play a lot on DMG level and ranked up to Eagle some weeks later.
I've never thought I would ever get to that level when I started.
Now, I don't play on rank anymore. After more than 1500 hours of playtime, I will only play for fun.

#Edit: CS:GO shifted ranks and some asked if I could still hold LE. Well, yes. And it appears like that's not even a big problem. I was probably even close to uprank to LEM.
#Edit2: Started playing again on a 2nd Acc due to a friend. Started at DMG, upranked to LEM. Having a win streak of 6 right now to Supreme (24.08.2016)
