Shattered Space is an example of what Starfield should've been. A game set in one or maybe 2 solar systems all with unique planets and worlds to explore, not the bloat that is solar systems filled with randomly generated yet barren AF planets we've been given.

The story still isn't written well (as is typical) and the combat hasn't changed much, but at least they've given you the ability to explore a world space that isn't filled with a couple copies of the same 2 Points of Interests like the base game. The best part of open world games is the ability to go and get sidetracked or to explore the world and find something new and cool. Starfield effectively discourages going off the beaten path and exploring because you just know that if you try, then you're just going to land on a barren planet with nothing to find or do.

The game's still a thumbs down for me though because ♥♥♥♥ paid mods. Also, in my opinion, you can't save a bad game with DLC, no matter how good the DLC is. You can augment a mid game like base Monster Hunter World with it, but you can't polish a turd.
