Rated as a negative review simply because steam doesnt have a meh option and i do not want to check "yes" on "do you recommend this game?"

its called "breakpoint" for a reason... when this game works its actually super fun to play, especially with immersion mode on and gear score disabled.
But my god its buggy as heck, your character randomly gets stuck on things or inside things, the driving experience is like elder scrolls skyrims intro with uncapped framerate.

50% of the time playing this game makes me feel like im playing a very early alpha build of a game set to release years from now but the other 50% when it all "just works" its actually kind of a fun game. But for the love of our lord and savior DO NOT get this game at full price.

if you liked firewatch youll love this game! Gameplay wise it isnt all that interesting, youre basically just walking from point A to B but the story and the way you interact with it is really good and immersive, reminds me of firewatch.

Now unfortunately this is one of those "7 hour experience" games although it has lots of deep story choices and presumably endings to allow for multiple playthroughs.

Performance wise the game runs great, i played in native 4k 120fps and it stayed locked at that framerate for the entirety of the game but my PC is quite high-end. they do support DLSS + FSR so i would imagine that even older rigs will do just fine.

Imo if youre in to singleplayer storytelling then you must buy this game!

I liked starfield and have completed both the story and NG+ multiple times, My initial review of the game was good, think i gave it an 8/10 at the time.

However this game has a serious issue even when compared to previous bethesda games such as fallout 4 or skyrim, and that being it lacks content. Ive played 160hours on multiple characters and every time i create a new character and play for a few hours i find myself thinking "is that all there is?"

the main story is decent, youve got another 3-5 faction stories that are quite decent too but then its all just this massive empty space with nothing in it except for mission board fetch quests and good looking spots to take screenshots in.

I have probably 1600+ hours played in skyrim and fallout 4 and in those games it doesnt matter if its my 10th character or my 20th you always stumble across something interesting youve never seen before, but in starfield that sadly isnt the case.

When youve played it once youve seen it all, you loadscreen to a starsystem, loadscreen to a planet, loadscreen to land on said planet and then you run for 10minutes to a randomly generated copy/paste location, explore that for 5 minutes then run for 10minutes to the next location. rinse and repeat.

More often than not i have to force myself to play this game cuz maybe just this one time ill find something interesting to do but no, its yet another copy/pasted building ive seen 100 times already except this time it has a slightly different type of pirates occupying it.
The exploration bethesda magic is gone...

Yeah sure if you take every single point of interest and quest NPC in starfield and put it on a map the size of skyrim/fallout 4 then starfield would probably have much more things to do, but the problem is that everything is spread so thin for no reason. the whole galaxy feels dead and devoid of life/things to do.

after finishing my first playthrough the only thing this game has done for me is making me go back to play fallout 4 again, and thats what ill do. One can only hope that the DLC will breathe some life in to this game or that modders will eventually take matters in to their own hands but until then im out of here.
